THERE IS NO DIPSTICK FOR THIS VEHICLE. WHEN YOU SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION, YOU MUST MEASURE WHAT YOU TAKE OUT. WHAT YOU TAKE OUT FROM THE PAN IS WHAT YOU REPLACE. IF THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SLIP, THEN YOU DON'T ADD ANY FLUID THROUGH A CAP ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION CASE. I HOPE THIS CLARIFIES ANY CONFUSION. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR AN HONEST RATING. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO KEEP ME POSTED. GOOD LUCK

Unfortunately for the consumer there is no dipstick to check the trans fluid on this vehicle. There is however a way to check the fluid, but the car needs to be up in the air and running, then you remove a plug from the lower part of the trans. at the right side axle where it comes out of the trans., and if fluid dribbles out when removed the fluid lvl is fine.

How do you check transmission fluid on a 2004 Cavalier? Can't find a dip dtick anywhere.

look above the trans, should be there, sometimes a different color. If no luck check your manual or look for one online, call a dealer. My 94 stick was yellow.

Where do I add transmission fluid for my 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitari?

You'll have two dip sticks under your hood on the engine. One will be for oil the other for tansmission fluid. You can tell you have the transmission because the fluid is a bright redish color where as the oil should be clearish or black, Denpending on your last oil change. The dip sticks are usually on opisit sides or the engine from eachother but could be on the same side. To check your transmission fluid then you need the emergency brake on and the car in neutral and the motor running. On the dip stick there is notches or tiny lines telling you how much is in it. Here;s a very important point to remember. Transmissipon fluid is checked and measured by pints unlike the oil dip stick which is in quarts. So the marks on the dip stick for the tranny will be one pint per mark. To add transmission fluid they sell a skinny long tube funnel that goes directly into the stem that holds the dip stick. You must shut the engine off to add the fluid and restart it in neutral to recheck it. I hope I have been of some service to you and please be kind with your thumbs up for me. good Luck, Raz

Can ODB2 READERS READ THE TRANSMISSION TEMP ON THE

code readers cant.the scan tools can but are real expensive.if you havent drained the trans oil yet just drive it around a while and check it.if you have drained the oil then try to measure what you took out and put that much in.if you cant measure old oil then add fluid while engine running in nuetral{double check the nuetral position writen on dip stick} add fluid untill oil is below the add level let it run for a while say 30 minutes and recheck add th full then go drive it around.recheck again if low add if high drain out or siphion some out throuh small hose through the dip stick tube

How to check transmission fluid and fill if nessesary.

if it is an automatic transmission, the dip stick is under the hood and should be on the drivers side of the engine, start the car leave it in park, pull the dip stick out and wipe it off with a cloth, reinstall the dip stick in the filler tube completely, and remove again and notice where the fluid level is on the dip stick,if you need to add fluid to bring it up to full, the correct fluid for your car is printed on the dip stick, you need a transmission funnel and put in in the tube you pulled the dip stick out of.
if you transmission is a standard, there is a 5/8 bolt on the side of the transmission you remove and put something like a screw driver in the hole to see where the fluid level is,.

Your transmission is sealed and has no dip stick, checking the fluid level properly involves using a factory scan tool.
