Question about Pontiac Sunfire
Just bought a used 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, mint condition (only 20,000 miles!). First time I went to get gas the door to the tank wouldn't open....couldn't find a release button anyway so my friend pushed in to see if it was some type of spring mechanism...didn't work. A little wiggling eventually got it open; got my gas, closed the door and opened it right away to make sure it was OK...opened fine. Next day my husband went to see if it would open and it is "stuck" again. Don't have an owners manual...anyone hear of this problem before?
In the trunk on the left handside there should be a wire that connects to the fuel door. pull wire that should relase fuel door.
Please remember the word "should"
I hope this helps you out.

Testimonial: "Thanks very much for the info; found the lever (behind accessories bag) and the gas door popped right open. You saved me a lot of time & frustration!"
You may need to put a little wd40 on it just make sure you wipe any off that gets on the paint.
