How do you set timing on isuzu rodeo

It depends on the year. With newer models that don't have a distributor, you don't set timing. It is set by the cam position sensor, and the ignition module. older models with a distributor require a timing light and you use the flash from #1 firing in order to illuminate the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley.

isuzu engines has timing marks. normally the piston #1 is set at TDC then the camshaft sprockets marks must match up the alignment marks.

Which cylinder do I use to set the timing in a 2.2L Isuzu rodeo?

All timing on engines is always done on Number 1 cylinder. On an inline engine it is the very front cylinder nearest to the radiator. On a transverse engine it is the cylinder nearest to the belt drive pulleys.
