Question about Honda Cars & Trucks
It is more difficult to diagnose this without looking at live data and performing component tests. Your symptoms suggest a worn out Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. There are other possibilities. Low fuel pressure, vacuum leak, poor compression or over due tune-up could be the source as well. Lack of spark from spark plug, coil and/or wire. I hope this helps. Please write back and let me know. Good luck.

Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.

Withoutknowing if the check engine light is on it could be a variety of things including but not limited to the o2 sensor, throttle positioning sensor, and the MAF and MAP sensors. Best diagnosed by using an OBDII scanner to scan for codes. If no codes are present I would then check for the pressure coming from the fuel pump to make sure it is still functioning.

It should be your brake light switch. There is a little plate welded to the arm of the pedal that has a hole with a rubber stopper. The rubber stopper is most likely missing, or damaged. You should be able to take a flashlight and see the plate and the switch. If the hole is plugged up, you will need the brake light switch, if not, replace the plug.
