If its a low flow code replace the DPFE sensor. If you do a resistance check of it it will prabably be out of specs. Also make sure the two hoses are hooked up and arnt cracked. Also blow thru each one to make sure the tubes going into the exhaust arnt clogged. Also make sure the grn hose going to the egr valve is plugged in. Also apply vacuum to the egr valve to make sure it holds vacuum. If it doesnt then the vlave is bad.

Where is the egr valve on a 99 Ford expedition

The EGR valve is in a very difficult spot to work on. If the EGR is bad it will set off the check engine light and make the vehicle run rough or stall at idle. It really doesn't make it run rough while driving or accelerating. What are the conditions when the car runs rough?

Rough idle problem

could be a vacuum leak at a hose or gasket. with the engine running spray a little carb spray at the intake manifold area. if the idle picks up you are close to the vacuum leak. dont spray on the exhaust manifold area, be careful

99 ford escort code says egr flow is insufficient but valve is almost new and i cleane the egr tube and also made sure the vacumn hose was ok what do i do next

if valve is new and there doesnt seem to be any other problem, you should disconnect your battery cables for 5 min then hook them back up, this will reset the code, hopefully that will take care of it.

I have a 99 Windstar 3.8L Keep getting DTC PO401 have replaced DPFE EGR Valve and EGR tube still keep getting Code PO401

Does the egr vavle open ? You will need to use a scanner to test the dpfe voltage when the egr valve is energized you should read around 3.5 4.00 volts. Also you could remove the vacume line from the egr valve and with the engine running you should see around 100 rpm drop in engine rpm at least this would indicate the egr valve is capable of flowing egr gases through the system to the cylinders.

How to replace a ignition lock cylinder in a 99 ford expedtion

I believe you are talking about the cylinder where the key goes that starts the truck. If so, you will need to go to autozone and borrower there steering wheel removing tool. When I did mine it took about 2 hours to do. They have a step by step instruction on how to do it that they can print off. Its not hard to do, I could probably do it in 30 minutes or so now. You have to disconnect the battery to prevent air bag deployment.

When they run a test and it said egr insuffince on a 99 ford what is the problem

they have a little switch that monitors flow. on these cars it common place to have those go bad. it is right in line with the egr and are not very expensive.
