Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

I have a 1999 Blazer 4.3 V-6 and am wondering what type of Anti-Freeze this vehicle uses. The green or the pink.

Dexcool is the correct antifreeze for the engine, but you can have it flushed out and use the green coolant if you prefer. The dis advantage is the green coolant needs to be replace at about 50,000 miles and the dexcool is 150,000 miles.

I would start with the traditional green anti-freeze. I have never worked on a Renault. Green Antifreeze was created to work with the following metals, steel, aluminum and copper, bronze and cast iron. So you should be fine if you have the same metals on your vehicle. Green antifreeze has been around far longer than the extended operation orange colored coolant, and the almost pink colored Recreational Vehicle coolant.

look at the anti-freeze and if its green you can use any green anti-freeze if its orange then you will have to use long life anti-freeze that is compatable with other long life coolant.

WHAT KIND OF ANTI FREEZE
2000 was around the year of the switch. if it has green coolant you can use anything off the shelf from a parts store. If its pink colored then its a special formula made by Vw and Audi called G12. Its also the same as the new toyota pink coolant. DO NOT USE PRESTONE MIX WITH ANY COLOR ANTIFREEZE IN THIS VEHICLE.

any color.... or drain your anti freeze totally and use a uniform antifreeze 50-50 solution, use only 1 color...

Engine warms well, heater fan blowing well, but very little heat comes into cab
It could be one of two things.
1. Bad thermostat. Your thermostat is pobably not opening when the engine warms up. Install a new thermostat and you should be OUT OF THE COLD. If not,
2. Your heating core and radiator is probably clogged. One way to solve this is. Flush out your radiator with radiator flush kit. Pease read your owners manual, (YOU NEED TO USE A SPECIAL TYPE OF ANTI FREEZE). If you use the the green color Presotne anti freeze, It will gradually corrode through the linings of your radiator. And the green color prestone anti freeze will blow out the radiator. So read your owners malual ( I beleive it says you have to use Dextron Anti Freeze ( Pink Color).. Replace your thermostat and flush out your radiator. Then refill your radiator with dextron anti freeze. Also make sure the anti freeze resivor is filled to the proper level.. Once you do all of this, YOU DEFFINITLY WILL BE IN HEAT.. YOU CAN DO THIS YOUR SELF ( iT WOULD TAKE ME NO MORE THAN 1 TO 2 HOURSFOR ME TO DO THIS IN MY DRIVEWAY) OR YOU CAN HAVE THIS DONE AT ANY QUICK LUBE LOCATIONS... HAPPY MOTORING

I have the old green anti-freeze in my vehicle , the main heater hose is getting warm but no heat, does the anti-freeze matter ?
NO, but thats the incorrect anti-freeze. It should be ORANGE Dexcool. Both hoses in and out should be HOT. if they are not, flush the heater core.

This vehicle uses standard coolant (GREEN) not the extended type.

What kind of antifreeze
I would check and see if the vehicle contains Dex-Cool, the orange anti-freeze, or the regular green type anti-freeze. They make an anti-freeze that will mix with either type. Don't mix the green and orange types.

What Anti Freeze can I purchase for a 1998 Nissan Sentra Gxe?
Depends on which anti-freeze is already in the car.
If it is green, use the prestone 50/50 mix.
If it is an orange color, use the prestone dex cool 50/50 mix.
