Check fuses and fuel pump relay, and sometimes a simple bump or jolt or short can set off the fuel pump safety switch and is usually locates in the trunk hidden or glove box.

Stored 2 years... wont start. What should i check?

Sounds like you have spark and no fuel.
Could be bad gas, sludge in the fuel line or injectors, or a failed fuel pump.
If you check fuel pressure with a gauge and it is normal, you may need to drain the tank and clean out the injectors.
Gasoline turns to shellac after several months, which acts like varnish.

2003 Kia Optima SE Driving to work, just turned off, with a half tank of gas and temperatures were fine. Replaced the fuel pump. Now the car turns over but wont stay on. Whats the next step?

There are so many cheap replacement fuel pumps being sold that are no good, I would use a test gauge to insure you have correct fuel pressure. If OK, there test for good spark at plugs and run compression test.

1998 ck2a lancer 4g15 no go. have replaced dizzy, computer and tps. has spark and injector pulse and timing is fine. any help appreciated

the next thing to check is the fuel system.
is there fuel in the system, the tank, fuel lines. is there fuel pressure at the injectors? check the fuel pump electrical system, the fuse, fuel pump relay, fuel cut off circuit. some factory security system have a fuel inhibitor, that disable the fuel pump circuit!

Car acts like its not getting fuel car cranks but

On your '03 Mitsubishi lancer, if you have tried the other (cheaper) possible culprits, to no avail, you are pretty much left with replacing the fuel pump. On this model it is actually easier than you may think. There is an access point to the fuel pump under the rear seat on the driver side. Easy now, before getting gung-ho and just unhooking wiring harnesses and hoses, remember these lines are under pressure. Prior to locating the access port, turn your ignition to the on position and then proceed to locate the fuel pump relay. Remove the relay and either 1. Crank car and let it run until it cuts off or 2. Disconnect the fuel line under the hood to release the pressure in the line. Either way is sufficient but I prefer the "let-r-die" method myself. No proceed to removing the housing mount bolts, wiring harnesses and hoses. Instillation is the reverse of the removal. Once everything is secure and replaced(pump relay) turn the key to the on position and back about 4 or 5 times before cranking. Should purr like a kitten!

IM also adding the pump diagram as reference if any uncertainties arise. Hope this helps someone with their fuel issue!

Hi, My daughter has a 2000 GLi Lancer, which just stopped. I have checked and it has spark to plugs, it turns over but wont start. Fuel is in the line to the injectors. Could it be fuel pump, or is there...

yes there is a relay for the fuel pump!! the best way too tell if a pump is working is to have someone to turn key to on while another person puts there hand on bottom of tank. if it works you will feel the vibration from pump. the pump only is on enough to pressurize fuel system about 2 or 3 seconds. when car is started it runs constantly.

Have 2002 mits lancer, changed fuel pump only getting about 10 psi at fuel rail, cant find filter, could pump I bought from Napa be bad or is there a filter in tank unit

Many fuel problems are cause by a fuel pressure regulator. it is recommended that you change the regulator with the pump. It is also recommended that you use the original Mitsubishi pump(should be about the same price) so that the pump pressure is also correct. The fuel filter is at the intake of the fuel pump so only filtered gas enters the pump.

I have a 2003 stratus and it wont start... Crank sensor???

In a HOT day,old battery and fuel pump will be the prime troublemaker.

You need to charge up the battery and check for 12.4-13.6V range.

How old is the battery?

Most are warrenty for 24,48 or 96 months.

Fuel pump motor portion will ran forever. But the plastic diaphragm will give out in a hot day.

Do a fuel injector pressure test. Below 40 pis is trouble.

Fuel filter should be change if the fuel pump is at fault.

ALL more gas until it's over 1/2 tank and re-test.

A weak fuel pump will take more effort to pull fuel from a near empty tank.

Good luck,
