Question about 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
I am not familar with your specific car but here are some general guidelines. There are two primary headlight systems. The first is a seal beam unit and the second is a headlight bulb. For the seal beam unit you have to remove the outside trim. There are usually a couple of screw holding the trim in place. Do not confuse this with the headlight alignment or adjustment screws. Once the trim is removed the headlight can be pulled out and then unplugged. Reverse the process to install. To replace a headlight bulb you open the hood . On the back side behine the headlight there should be a cap or plug with a couple of wires running thru it. You twist or pop this off and should then be able to pull the headlight bulb out. Pull the bulb from the plug connector. Holding the new plug with a clean lint free cloth (don't handle the bulb with your bare hands as it will cause it to burn out early), install the bulb in the plug. reverse to install
