Question about 2007 BMW 525xi Sedan

2 Answers

The warning "engine oil level low" is coming on in my 2006 BMW 525 xi but when I check the oil level through the i menu it tells me engine oil level is ok. Can anyone give me a reason for this or a solution as to how to fix it and is there any manual way , ie , a dipstick to check the oil in these cars, Many thanks for any help.

BMW car's no longer have a dipstick. Add a quart of oil and see if that fix's it.

SOURCE: BMW 5 series - 2005 model - resetting service & waring lights

the brake pad warning light is controlled by a sensor located in the front and rear brake pads, small contact with 2 wires that plud into a harness, if they are bad I think the replacement cost is around 5-10 dollars for a new one, there will only be one in the front and one in the rear, the service light is turned out by a special tool at the dealer

SOURCE: taking the front door panel off my 525 bmw

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

SOURCE: 2006 Subaru Impreza. Oil warning light stays on

No, just keep an eye on it to see it does not start staying on longer and longer. The oil pressure sensor my be a little off,and at worse the oil pump is a little weak. Just keep up on the oil changes.3500 miles max.

do you have a ski hatch in middle of back seat ? if not then allegedly you "make" one and reach through with an improvised tool to release the boot catch from inside !!!!!!
look on t' bright side . your boot is next best thing to a safe on wheels.

Whats the problem when I start the engine the engine oil light comes on for a minute and then disapears.

Check oil level.
This is a warning of low oil pressure while the engine is running. If the engine is worn - it may do this on low revs.
Replace oil filter and do an oil change with the higher rating of oil (i.e. - 20-50)

Dear,
Check th below:
1)Check if the torx screw -(it's a screw that allow you to drop out the Engine oil)- is not dripping out any oil.
2) check if the crank shaft sealing is ok.
3) check if the oil pan is cracked or not (especially if you made any accident).
4) check if the oil filter is mounted properly and sealed very well.
5) if the oil is not dipping out of your car but it disappear after short period that means that your engine rings should be replaced or the engine needs an overhaul.

2006 BMW 530i with a slow/small oil leak.

Common oil leaking areas on that engine is the plastic lid on the oil filter, and the gasket in between the oil filter adapter and the engine block.I would suggest you take it to a qualified shop and have them diagnose the oil leak.

BMW 318iSE (1999) engine warning light

That sounds like you bought big problems. Oil ights indicate low oil pressure= BIG BUCKS. I would have a qualified repair shop check it out, A shop that specializes in BMW. If you are lucky, maybe the oil sender is just bad. They can also check out the Ck eng light. But the oil light is priority one.

The BMW 525I doesn't have a dip stick. The oil level is checked using the "i" menu. Select service status and from there you should choose "check engine oil level".
