Question about 2000 Daewoo Leganza
My engine management light is on constantly how do i turn it off
There is sooo many problems with the 1.8ltr engine (2001) ..for example the oil ports in the cylinder head casting are way too small.. this causes clogging and obvious lack of flow and then lack of power due to compression ratio going out the window.. I've re-built quite a wee number of these puppies.. including my wife's own car..so I heartily recommend the below..
1/ THOROUGHLY FLUSH EVERY LAST BIT OF GRIME, DEBRIS, LACQUERS & OIL OUT OF ENTIRE ENGINE..
2/CHANGE FILTER & REFILL WITH SEMI-SYNTHETIC 15/40 OIL..
3/ OIL AND FILTERS MUST BE CHANGED EVERY 3,000 TO 6,000MILES TO MAINTAIN ENGINE (IF NOT BORING OIL PORTS AND QUITE SUBSTANTIAL WORK & EXPENSE)
This should give immediate effect, but you may also consider the CRANK/FLYWHEEL SENSOR.. It's NOTORIOUS.. Along with the IGNITION COIL PACK.. CONSTANTLY CRACKING HIGH TENSION LEADS..Etc...
Hope this helps someone out there..

Tacuma's suffer from head gasket failure and eat HT leads. Mine had a fault that was read as a faulty EGR valve. The man from the RAC who came to look at mine said that usually its the crank shaft sensor

Daewoo tacumas where sold with some unfixed defects if you search up daewoo tacuma faults there are so many. I would not recomend that you take your car to any other garage than ones officially owned by chevolet

When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.
