Question about 2004 Toyota Corolla

Car fuse problem

I believe my car has fuse problems, some times the lights don't work, other times the horn does not work, and a few other weird problems.

Any ideas which fuse is the reason for my problems?

Please help me,
Thank you.

my 2005 corolla has a short somewhere. The remote mirrors, radio, car ciggarette lighter and dome lights will not work. They keep blowing fuses.I have smelled a burning odor in my car also when it blows a fuse. The fuse blows each time I insert a new 15 amp fuse under the hood. My sevurity light also stays on.---KW

Fuse problems are the cause of many strange problems with your car, here are a few fuse problem solutions. If you are suffering from No power to radio, cigarette lighter, here is your solution, another FixYa solution about power problems, that will prove helpful is here. For Remote control or key fob problems this solution should do the trick. For dash light illuminating this solution might give you a clue.

Fuse problems - can be replaced by you quickly, easily, and with little to no dirty hands, & most important of all can save you money. Good luck with your fuse problems, hope this thread helped you, if you find new, or better solutions please post them here.

The car fuse box is usually found in one of two places: usually near the bottom of your dashboard as you move closer to the foot well or, on some models, under the hood. If you are having trouble finding the car fuse box, have a look at your car manual.

Good luck.

I would check every single fuse in the car. Blown fuses can cause weird issues like this. While the initial issue with the mechanic does sound like an alarm problem....the rest does not unless the shop that installed it really butchered the job.

Horn keeps beeping, flashing red light in dash. Would like to disconnect horn fuse in fuse box but do not know which one it is?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You should have black solid fuses on the right hand side of the engine compartment. I believe there is ten. I had the same issue with mine. I believe it is the second or third one down on the right but I am not for sure. Just keep taking them out until the beeping stops. If you take out one and it don't help, put it back and move onto the next one.

My cruise control doesn't work??...any

jnjkingbird, It sounds like this problem is the clock spring as I don't believe that the horn and the cruise control would share a fuse. However, they do share a circuit in the clock-spring. You can check for power at each unit (horn and the cruise control) which would confirm this. Check each fuse as well. Good luck with this.

99 dodge durango. My horn keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse under hood. There is also a horn relay. Could that be the problem? The horn will work after I replace the 20 amp, but blows within a few times of...

could be you might check it out. many items take the same relay so you might try exchanging it with another one with the same numbers. If that isn't it you may have a short in the horn itself.

Is there a separate fuse for brake lights only?

I don't believe so, alot of times the fuse for the hazard lights will cause the tail and brake lights not to work.

Car Horn

Hi djdecks,

I would think that the problem is more likely to be on the hot side of the horn operation, than on the earthing.....Power is fed to the horn and is grounded, completing the circuit, when you press the button....Check first on the horn relay and follow it from there.....I don't believe the problem will be behind the steering wheel, unless the horn sounds all the time....
