Question about 2000 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

My daughter's 2000 Isuzu Rodeo acted like it ran out of gas while going 60mph. I put a gallon of gas in it and after several attempts it did start and idle. It would not, however, rev the engine when the foot pedal was pushed. I thought the cable must have broken. After thirty minutes, I tried again and the vehicle is acting normal except after adding more fuel at the gas station the low fuel indicator light continues to blink. Why would the foot pedal not rev the engine right away and is there a connection between it and the low fuel indicator?

All of the symptoms that you have talked about point to a fuel pump that is starting to fail. I would take it to a mechanic and have the fuel pressure checked. It is a simple procedure and should be rather inexpensive.

I have a 2000 isuzu rodeo what are signs of low or no transmission fluid

It will slip when trying to take off. Almost like its in neutral and then someone throws it in gear with the gas pedal pressed down. If empty it might just act like its in neutral in any gear.

I have a 2000 isuzu rodeo i didnt notice it didnt have gas till the next morning put gas in then the car acted like it was gonna start but didnt then i left it alone the next day battery was dead ... does...

The first thing you should do is check the water in the battery. If it is low, add distilled water to it. Ask a neighbor to give it a jump start. If you get it started and the car has a voltage gauge, check the reading on it to see if it is staying above 12V. Drive it around for a 1/2 hr to let the battery charge some.

If the gauge never gets above 12V, then either the battery won't hold a charge, or the alternator is possibly defective.

If you do get it started, you could drive it over to your local Autozone and let them hook up a portable tester to it. They can tell you if the battery or the alternator is having issues and they check it for free.

The battery probably was discharged when you were attempting to start the car without gas and just needs a boost.

Ram it out of fuel

Please check power supply, fues and relay. Running a pump dry does pull more (slightly) amps.
