Hi Anonymous, if your headlight is not working, keeps burning out or is dim the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
3. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
4. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
5. Faulty ignition switch.
6. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
7. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
8. Weak charging alternator/generator.
9. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier, overcharging.
For more information about your issue, please visit the websites below. Good luck and have nice a day.

All you need to do is purchase a new ignition switch from BMW. It comes complete with a short section of the harness, with a plug on the end. Simply fit it to the top yolk and plug the wiring into the plug socket.

garbage oil, maybe it wouldn't hurt to have the valves checked and adjusted. black smoke means oil is getting past the rings or the valves more than its supposed to be. clean the plugs often too.

The best (and only choice besides the fatory manual, in my humble opinion) you can get is a Haynes manual. i had a factory shop manual and a Haynes manual for my Thundercat and i used the Haynes. They are as complete as a manual can get, with color pictures, technical data, specifications, diagrams, schematics, step-by-step how-to information on complete rebuilds of every system on the vehicle (or bike, as it is in this case). i looked your bike up and found them starting around $30 in online stores.

i hope this helps you

Need to know more.
For example, do you mean the shifter pedal will not move, does it grind, can you do it with engine off, etc.?
The reason is because a clutch problem is far more likely.
And is verified if you can shift when engine is off.
But how is the fluid level?
How is the clutch pressure?

If it really is the shifter, it can be hard to fix.
The pedal rotates a series of ramps that move actual shift forks back and forth.
Then there are the actual synchronizer rings, etc.
And then it could be the bearings the gears ride on, essentially causing 2 gears at once if a bearing locks up.

But assume it is the simple stuff first.
