All you do is drain the oil before removing the right hand engine casing the bigger one of the two then undo all the little bolts holding the small springs in place then rmove the face plate and take out the clutch plates and replace with new ones remember to put the new ones in the same order the old ones came out there should always be a friction plate between clutch plates once done put casing back and refill with new oil
hope this helps

This is not the proper procedure for a GSF 1200 Suzuki Bandit...They use a diaphram style clutch. It requires a 50 or 52mm impact(6pt) socket to remove the locknut before you can remove the clutch basket. And a large snap ring also needs removed to get the frictions and steels out of the basket.

Christmas comes early. Go to the site below and you can download a free PDF service manual. Yours is the 1st one in the "Suzuki GSF" section of the list. 4 or 5 below that is a PDF parts diagram with part numbers.

http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language.

Top rating due for this answer! Thanks Asel :)

I have bandit 1200 wont start in neutral with side stand down also no neutral light on dash. bike year 1999 please help

This could be the clutch switch:
1. Check the wires to make sure they are plugged firmly into the switch.
2. Use a voltmeter to check that resistance through the switch goes to zero when the clutch handle is pulled in.

If you have replaced the clutch switch with a fuse....check that the fuse is good and the blades are not corroded.

I have a 1998 Suzuki bandit 1200.I'm having problems with the clutch.I think. I noticed when I would accelerate the rpm would jump 4 -5000 before the bike would respond . I let off throttle to stop rpm...

make sure there is 3mm play on the clutch lever , select 5th gear while engine is running and press the rear brake to stop you moving away ! with a little revs try and set off , if clutch is worn it will slip and not stall the engine ! if this happens then replace the clutch plates !
