When I plug the FME2
Get it looked at or you may indeed have a fire. If you don't have a receipt sometimes a bank statement is enough to prove the date of purchase.

Error message states no water, but there is...
Unplug the device and plug back in after 1 min. If it still fails, then you have a dirty water level sensor or the control circuit board is fried. Empty the water out and fill it with vinegar as full as you can without overflowing. Let it soak overnight and turn the machine on (without coffee in it). Turn off after 30 secs.Turn on again and allow it to finish the cycle. Discard the vinegar. Run three more brewing cycles with water only and it will be OK to use. If this does not cure it, then the only cost effective way is to replace it.

Where is the water sensor
There are two of them mounted in the middle of your face one each side of your nose. You observe the water level with them by looking at the water level indicator on the front of the coffeemaker.
