I would guess your switch is bad. Not a lot on a dryer to go bad. The hearing element and the switches is about all there is. The switch that controls what it is doing not the one that choices the load size, Hot or Cold water would be the one bad. The ones I've replaced were not hard to do. Just take your time and if it has each wire individual, unhook and hook one at a time so you can't go wrong. Some of the newer dryers just has one big plug on the switch.
Hope this helps you.

The F30 code is a false code. It does not mean anything. The dryer will work fine. When I worked for Whirlpool, this was a programming issue. I owned the same dryer. It displayed this code and engineers explained this to me. The dryer worked fine.

I had this same problem and it ended up being the thermal fuse going bad. i replaced mine and it works fine now. you should be able to locate it by taking off the back panel. be sure to unplug the machine first!

in most cases, you can find the wiring diagram inside the control chase where the timer other controls are mounted. this can show you where it is at in the wiring system. The word "thermal" refers that it is usually exposed to temperature. It fails when the temp gets too high. I had to take the back off my dryer and found it mounded to the back of the heater element area.

Thermal fuses are typically on the dryer duct that contains the heating elements. They look like a "top Hat" or a TO-3 transistor (look it up). test continuity with an ohm meter and heat gently with a propane torch to be sure it trips. Do not bypass, as it could prevent a fire.
