York Furnace Draft Inducer Blower Fasco # A224 - Page 3 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Check gas pressure, inspect manifold & make sure there is not a blockage.Make sure gas is present and main gas shut off valve to furnace is on also check the knob on the 24 volt gas valve and see if it is in the on position , check the MV terminal on the gas valve to 24 volt common with a volt tester to see if you have 24 volts present, if you do have 24 volts at gas valve, replace valve. if you do not have 24 volts at gas valve check high limit control & roll out limits for a open circuit, Good luck.

Check pressure switch for inducer motor. If switch closes, check for crack in ignitor. If gas valve opens and you can hear/smell gas, the ignitor is bad probably. If pressure switch isn't closed you need to check for blocked vent/chimney/heatexchangers.

Flame sensor should be cleaned every 1 to 2 years. The flame sensor is a small silver rod that sits in front of one of the burners. Cleaning it with abrasive cloth will do the trick. Always shut power off first.

Check for a short in the red and white wires.

I had the identical problem with my York. Problem was the burners. The heating element would light the first burner but the flame wouldn't move to the other burners. The flame sensor didn't detect a flame on the last burner so the gas valve would shut off. I removed and cleaned the burners then reversed the first and last.

the motor could be bad or it could be a capacitor that should be mounted on the fan.. check for a rupture on the top where the wires connect or if its round, check to see if it is bulged out. if it were a relay problem, the board should be flashing

Check if they have a "sail switch" that senses combustion air flow before allowing fire. These are a small vane in the combustion air intake that moves a microswitch when air is flowing.

need help with gas furnace put in new presure switch and it worked for a while now i have to blow into it to get it to turn on ignitor .

The flame sensor is not sensing the flame. Google "flame sensor"

May be an adjustment or control board problem.

Call that serviceman back!
he did not want to run new wire so; he left you one wire short and, thought you wouldn't notice to fix this yourself i've included the proper thermostat wiring diagram at:

I put a new control board in my York today and it was a different/newer board. I immediately had the 9 code thrown at me for grounding and polarity issue. All I had to do was switch the 2 gray wires on the transformer. The gray wires go the the 12 pin connector. The new board is wired differently.

Sounds like a bad thermostat or stuck motor control relay. Turn off the breaker at the unit or in the electrical panel to kill the motor and see if cutting power, if relay is bad, cycles off and stays, but you should leave power off and call for service right away.

York Tools &... | Answered on Jun 18, 2015 | 44 views

Check the relay for that motor. Follow the wires back to locate the relay. If the relay clicks when you advance the thermostat then check the relay contacts with a multimeter. If there is continuity and a low resistance value on the contacts then look at the motor itself. There is a hi limit safety klixon switch that may be holding voltage from reaching the motor too. The wiring diagram should be on or inside an access panel.

What Light???? More informaton needed.

York Tools &... | Answered on Jul 02, 2014 | 34 views

I would first check the blower to be sure it is ok. If so then the control board would need to be replaced.
