you can try loggin on to safe mode suing F8 might be an option if you have not set the adminstrator password.

if you are able to log on in safemode you can go to user account under control panel and reset the pasword.

If you have password there too . you may need to have a windows xp cd to go to reocvery console

thank you

I don't know what you mean by the original mail setup is gone.
I would go into Windows mail and re-set it up. Your profile may have accidentally been deleted.

You have a virus thats called rougue security. To remove this virus, you need to download and run a GOOD antivirus and malware scanner. I recommend Panda Security (they have a trial version 30 works great).

Depending on the CD the action you are requesting could be illegal, though one very common way of ripping CD's to your hard drive is converting them into .ISO files. A free trial of the program I use to make ISO's is available here. This program (MagicISO) is a nice and small tool which enables you to open as well as make ISO's, but not all CD's can be converted into ISO's with it being that some have write protection on them which can't be read by the software.

If this does not answer your problem please leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Uh, yeah. First of course you want to send a fruitbasket to Microsoft (Windows Vista team or whatever) for that clear and actionable error message, but then you should go into your PC's BIOS and make sure your audio hardware's enabled. It can of course have been disabled by jumper depending on what hardware you have, but I'm guessing newer hardware and BIOS settings (the ones you get into by hitting DEL or F10 when booting, right after the first speaker beep.)

Try to increase the size of Event Logs files.

Open up Event Viewer by typing in eventvwr into the Start \ Run box, or you can find it under Administrative tools section of Control Panel.
You’ll notice over on the right-hand side of the window that the current size of my Application and System Event Logs are 512 KB…

Now you can right-click on one of the Event Logs in the list, and choose Properties from the menu.

In this dialog you can do a number of things… you could clear the log, increase the size, or just set the system to overwrite events as needed

chose to increase the maximum size of the event log, and then also to overwrite events as needed

For those of you using Windows Vista, you’ll notice that the default settings in Vista are to overwrite as needed, and the maximum size is way bigger. Guess my setting choices make sense then…

Links in an email in the Junk folder will never work. It is set this way to protect you. However if you are clicking a link in an email in the Inbox, right click the link and then click "Open Hyperlink". Once you do that the links on emails in your Inbox should work from now on. If not, is IE your default browser? If not make it so. If that does not work open Internet Options >> Control Panel >> Programs Tab >> Reset Web Settings.

You must use a full retail or OEM version of XP (not the cd from your old computer) this makes life really easy and can usually be downloaded from the web.
You must also have a genuine XP key, which has not been used on another system.
Next you should know or find out the specifications of your system, to do this goto Manufactures website.
The most important step is to find out if your hardisk is using SATA interface (if so you will require the SATA XP drivers and a floppy disk, as this is the only way that XP can install these drivers.)
Install XP via cd rom by booting cdrom at system start (if you cannot do this then you must access your system bios at first boot by pressing F2 or Del keys(or whatever key your system uses) and change the boot option to cdrom as first drive.

If your system uses SATA press F6 when XP prompts “press F6 to install other” at very beginng of XP install and install sata drivers from floppy.

Sometimes networking problems are fixed by restarting the computers and other devices that work within the network (such as a router).

If the network is enabled by a router check the firewall settings on each computer. (Especially if those new computers have antivirus/firewall software from a different vendor). If the router has its firewall enabled also check those settings.

This may help. If you can't identify the file or program, then use MSConfg. Go to Start > Search. Type MSConfig. Go to the startup tab and disable as many items as possible. Not to worry, the apps are still there and critical items will load anyways. Plus this will make you pc load and run faster.

try it on another wireless connection and see how it works. Belkin routers are usually not the best, that's why they are so cheap

If the prob persist on another wireless network than contact ASUS technical support
