Check the house breakers for the dryer circuit--push off, then on. If no help, possibly the door switch in the dryer is defective. Check the voltage at the slanted slots in the power socket--It should read ~220 volts AC. If zero or near, one of the two breakers is faulty, or the wiring between the breakers and the dryer power socket is loose or broken. Some of this may require the services of an electrician. Hope this helps!

It appears your thermal fuse has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Remove the service panel bottom front and the element will be on the right hand side. The element yanks out of its housing.
9324bf1.jpgThis video shows how to replace the thermister. The element is directly to the right of that.

Here is an older model like yours:

If the dryer won't work on any cycle, your most common problems are either a power fuse, a door switch, or a electrical problem with your house. The fuse is located on the back of the dryer in the middle. To get to it, you have to take the back off. It's about 2 inches long and it's skinny and white. It's part number 3392519. It could also be the door switch broken. Open the door and you'll see it in the top right corner. Push it in with your finger and see if you feel it click. If not, it's broke. Part number is 279347 for the door switch.

What is the model # of your dryer so we are on the same page?

Thanks!!

The safety fuse should go all the way to the right or read continuity when testing this. Try jumping these 2 wires together and starting dryer. Shoud be the safety fuse is bad. Only other thing would be the door switch. Hope this helps.

Open the dryer door. There should be approximately three screws that hold the hinges on there on the right side (as you said yours currently is a left to right opening). Remove the screws that hold the door on. As you hold the dryer door removed from the dryer, turn it counter clockwise so that the handle is now on the opposite side. Lay it on the floor. Now, remove the screw hole covers from the opposite side of the dryer opening ( the left side) (these can be removed with a fingernail or a thin flat tipped screw driver to pry them out). This will expose the screw holes on the opposite (left)side of the dryer. Take the removed covers and place them in the original screw holes on the right side. Now simply reinstall the door hinges in the newly exposed screw holes on the left side. This will only work if your dryer is designed to have both types of openings. Good Luck!
