Hi there,
I know it is very frustrating if these things do not work. I am sure that the router is not setup properly that is why it is not working. It says connected because you have a good connection from pc to the router. But the connection from your Netgear router to the modem is not working. There is a possible IP conflict between your modem and router. I suggest changing the IP address of your netgear router to 10.10.10.1 . To do this click the link below:
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WNR2000_UM_24FEB09.pdf
Note: This is the manual for your router. Go to LAN TCP/IP Setup Parameters to change the router's IP address.

Hi, yes you will be able to use the Netgear range extender with the Apple Time Capsule, provided you configure the Time Capsule's wireless settings based from the wireless security you have setup on the Netgear router or extender. No need for WPS button. Just treat the time capsule just like another wireless laptop.
For instructions in setting up wireless settings of Time Capsule click on this link -->> http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/wireless.html

Hope this helps. Glad to be of service.

Depending on your browser, download or display the pdf of the WNR2000 manual ( http://documentation.netgear.com/wnr2000/enu/202-10397-01/pdfs/FullManual.pdf ). The manual might also be found on the CD that came with the router.Follow instructions Chapter 2 Page 7 to enable/setup WPA2-PSK (AES).Make sure you SAVE/APPLY the settings before proceeding. Follow instructions Chapter 2 Page 17 to Disable Router's PIN. When you do, make sure you leave the box checked to "Keep Existing Wireless Settings".Make sure you SAVE/APPLY the settings before proceeding. Here's a work-around ff the above doesn't fix the issue for you. Sorry I don't have iPad-specific instructions, but I don't have access to an iPad/iPhone at the moment. I've done the following on iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets, Windows phones and PC's - it works on virtually all Wi-Fi-capable devices..:
Instead of letting your iPad find the network and trying to connect with the password, try manually creating a new Wi-Fi network connection by typing in your Wi-Fi network name (SSID), selecting WPA2 (AES) encryption and entering the Wi-Fi password your configured in STEP 2 above. Please note: You'll have to forget the Wi-Fi network in your iPad's settings if you keep your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) the same as it is currently.

Hold in the reset button for 30 seconds, unplug the router for 30s while keeping the reset held, and plug it back in, still holding reset in for another 30s. Then hook an ethernet cable from it to your computer and open up http://192.168.1.1 in your web browser. You can then log in with username "admin" and password "password" to reconfigure the network with a new username and password. http://documentation.netgear.com/wnr2000/enu/202-10397-01/pdfs/FullManual.pdf

There is a small reset button in the router that you will need a paperclip or pin in order to reach it.

If you hold the pin in for about 25 seconds (making sure you are actually pressing and holding the button in) you should find that the router is reset to default.

The router is dropping the link due to the MTU being set to 1500, if this does not match your ISP's MTU, it will eventually fail as it will get out of sync.

To define a service, game, or application that does not appear in the Service Name list, you must first determine which port number or range of numbers is used by the application. You can usually determine this information by contacting the publisher of the application or user groups or newsgroups. When you have the port number information, follow these steps:

Adding a Custom Service.
1. Select Port Forwarding/Port Triggering under Advanced in the main menu.
2. Click Add Service (see Figure 5-1 on page 5-7).The Ports-Custom Services screen displays.
3. In the Service Name field, enter a descriptive name.
4. In the Service Type field, select the protocol. If you are unsure, select TCP/UDP.
5. In the Starting Port field, enter the beginning port number.
• If the application uses only a single port, enter the same port number in the Ending Port
field.
• If the application uses a range of ports, enter the ending port number of the range in the
Ending Port field.
6. In the Server IP Address field, enter the IP address of your local computer that will provide
this service.
7. Click Apply.
