If you have a paper fault with no paper in the paper path and the paper transport rollers are not turning.

When one removes fuser, all colour drums and transport belt there is a shutter over a set of photo cells. Clean these. Vitally this shutter is driven by the paper transport motor turning in the reverse direction. The gear for this is at the right hand end of the fuser bay. Turn the gear until the shutter opens and a clutch clicks. Reassemble, power on, everything worked.
There is no mention of this shutter anywhere in troubleshooting or where the home position of the transport mechanism is.
The good thing about this finding is that should the same problem re-occur I will only need to remove the fuser unit and turn the gear.
Hope this solution helps.

Hello.

Yes ... you can handle.

The printer’s transfer roller contains a density sensor to detect the density of media passing by. When the sensor gets dirty or dusty, print quality will degrade. When that happens perform the following steps.

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Open the front cover.
3. Grasp the two tabs (1) on the transfer roller to lift it straight up (2) out of the printer. Be careful not to spill toner into the printer.

Do not touch or scratch the black surface of the transfer roller or the density sensor window.
4. With a clean, dry cloth or cotton swab, gently wipe the density sensor. Do not use force to clean the sensor window.

5. Replace the transfer roller by inserting the pins at both ends of the transfer roller into the U-shaped bearings inside the printer.

6. Push down on the two tabs until they click to lock the transfer roller cartridge into the printer.

7. Close the front cover.
8. Turn on the printer.

Hope this helps.

it could be that one or more cartridges are near their expiration date. check them and also check for paper and ink availability

Hi Errol

The way to identifiy your problem is to send a full colour print to your printer and open the top just as the paper starts to come out . if you then remove your toner / drums for all the colours you can see the transfer belt if the quality of the image that you can see on the transfer belt is good and clear your problem is with the transfer form the tranferbelt to the paper and not any toner /drum issue and the most likley cause is the transfer belt itself "but before you relpace it remove it and clean around the electrical contact points and generally make sure the internals of the printer is free of loose toner .
