I am trying to install
Hi Ralph
What OSX are you running on your Mac G5 and is this an Intel or Power PC? You will find that the Jazz Scanners are only supported up to G4 OSX10.3.9 and no higher.
You may get lucky and find it may work but you will get numerous crashes for no reason and the scanner will also just freeze and you will have problems with the BGCAR application that the scanner application uses.
Sorry cannot be more helpful.

take a look on the device support site and see if you have driver available for it ...and only after that change the operation system ..if you do not find another driver for a newer OS ..install again the same one ..and use the old drivers ...Reinstalling it will make it run like new ..it is probably just bugged..or if youre intention is to change the MAC with a newer one that will allow you to use a newer OS ..than also see if it will be any driver available first ..otherwise it will be useless with the scanner

Ballasts for Creoscitex Eversmart Jazz+ Scanner
You should contact genesis equipment in AZ.
http://www.genesis-equipment.com/
I've ordered bulbs from them for my Jazz+. Kodak no longer supprots the Jazz, Jazz+, Pro, and older, so you'll have to find alternative suppliers for parts. Genesis should be able to help and can do the work for you if needed, but crating and shipping something this large wouldn't be cheap. You'd probably better off just buying a replacement at that point.

Locked Carraige
There are two locks on the scanner. One on the top right corner of the inner lid that locks the transparency assembly. The other for the bed is located on the side of the right hinge. Just turn them with a flathead screwdriver.

Automatic focus on Butting Target failed
Hi!. You need to create tables using the Oxyjen Installion Utlities. Make sure that your Calibration side is positioned properly and the four foucus types are calibrated. Once the tables are created, save them to the appropriate tables folder.
