I read your additional comments that your Tv is working fine with DVD hook up. This means your TV is capable deliver VIDEO and AUDIO signal. You had Direct TV working from your Bed room it mean you have signal from service. This lells me that you connect your TV to the RF input. So either the RF input terminal have a bad solder connections inside TV or the Tuning unit is bad. But you don't need them, you can connect your direct TV box to your TV thru S-video and RCA/Optical audio so it can work just like working with DVD. Good luck.

Although I've had some success soldering a few of those lugs back into place, it will be more dependable to replace it with a new part. The TV says, "no user serviceable parts inside". A technician would be your best bet. He should give you an estimate in advance.

HI...I have the same problem and I am trying this today (Expert advice on forum) ... Hope it works!

Try unplugging the power cord of your T.V. for 1-4 hours for a "HARD RE-SET".
If T.V. does not work normally after this, then you'll need parts/repiars. (Internal circuit/voltage problem).

Best of Luck!
I will know if it works for me in about 2 hours!
Ciao!

Could you try to set your channel to 2,3, or 5 when viewing video from dvd. Or try search which channel will the video and audio will sync in tune. I think this is an old tv.

Hope this one helps.

I don't have an answer for your question.

However, I do have a suggestion. You can hook up a vcr to your tv, then put the tv on channel 3 or 4 (whichever the vcr is set for) and change the channels through your vcr. You have to have the cable go first to your vcr and then out to the tv.

Yes it does, it could be just the connection on your speaker suddenly loose.

An aging FBT if it still can be adjust using screen adjustment on FBT that will be a small tweak.

But if you are inexperienced with this, asked someone who knows how to do it to fix it for you.

The problem you describe is not really related to a timer function being set. The unit is in shutdown and the light is blinkng to let you know there is a problem.
There are several possible causes. the most common is a failure in the vertical deflection circuit due to a bad vertical IC and possibly a capacitor, zener diode and resistor.
