My JVC car CD player won't turn on. it will accept CD's and eject them and will display the time when the display button is pressed. but it won't turn on or do any other function. it used to work just fine but suddenly stopped. i know it's not in the CD player itself b/c i bought a new one and it does the same thing when plugged in. could it be in a wire? is there a way to fix it?

Make sure the red wire is still connected or make sure the red wire hasn't been severed. Also, check the fuses located in the engine compartment. The red wire connects accessory terminal in the fuse block. Also check the fuses in the cabin. This fuse box is typically located on the driver's side, at knee level, next to the door panel, and underneath the dashboard. As a last resort, the unit can be taken to an authorized or factory service center.

I have a KD-R610 and the screen keeps flashing protect mode. I am wondering how I an get it off of protect mode because I don't know what the problem is. Have tried checking the cords and reset the system but nothing works.

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

JVC KD-HDR60 has stopped responding to commands. No volume control, can't eject disc, can't turn off, nothing works. It is currently playing a CD, but can't stop or eject. Tried resetting, no go.

I just installed a jvc car stereo. When turning up the volume with the radio or cd at about 15-17 it will cut out and starts making a crackling noise. I can turn it all the way down and then turn it back up again and it's fine, but if I go up over 15-17 it does it again. The stereo I had in the car before this one did not do this, and my daughter had installed this jvc stereo in her car before we put it in mine and it did not do this.

ok , ive found the problem with mine. I checked the voltage between the earth wire on the head unit and the battery in the car. I found that when i turned the headunit up to around 17-20 there was up to 3volts differance, which is when it would cut out. So ive run a new earth wire and she's all sweet . Even the cd player works now.

You need to hold the sel button down for a little while then it will change displays thats when you use youe right seek button until you hit the Clock H to change the clock hour or Clock M to change the minutes when you hit it you use your volume control button to change the time.

what do I do to set the clock?
Posted by rhutto1028 on
Press and hold select button on front of receiver
Use left and right control know (the one you would use to forward or reverse a track with the cd)
This will carry you into some more settings, including the hour and minute access
Use the volume knob to rotate to desired hour
