Easy....You'll need a very small screw driver. There's a small hole on one of the long ends (most are rectangular in shape). For the brand of door bell I have (Thomas and Betts/Carlon), you push in and downward with the screwdriver. This pushes out the bottom (back of doorbell button). In my case, there are (3) CR 2032 Button Cell batteries in a stacking position. As a quick side note -> If your wireless doorbell button does use button cell batteries. Look to Ebay to purchase them. You can get 6-10 batteries shipped to your front door cheaper. Rather than 3-4 batteries at a retail store + tax...Hopefully, I have lent you some assistance...Thanks for reading

I would try Ebay first (or search the net for availability and prices). I bought CR2032 3V Button Cell (that are used in my Carlon door chime buttons) batteries. I got 10 for under $5. Carlon (Thomas & Betts) still makes a variety of door chimes and accessories. However, on their site, the prices are atrocious. But, I think that Thomas & Betts deals in bulk (as in dealing with retailers). Because they list their items in bulk price form. I personally have 5 T&B wireless door chimes. Hence, 4 of the buttons are in storage. Out of curiosity, I tried all of them. All 4 extra buttons rang all the door chimes. Caution, on the packages of the door "chimes" I purchased. There's a blurb on there that states the wireless buttons for the "door chimes" will not work with the "doorbells". If you have the packaging for the one you have. It will explain. I'm not positive, but it seems the variance is due to whether you use battery or electric powered models. Hope I was of assistance...Greg

There's a notch/opening on one of the short sides of the button. Use a small ( I mean 1/16 inch) flat head screwdriver. Press inward, then downward. It will pry the inner part downward. Once you see the inside, you'll see the batteries. It takes 2 (maybe 3) CR2032 3 Volt Button Cell Batteries. Retail prices are expensive. So, it pays to search the net for best prices. If you use Ebay, better yet. That's where I get them. You can get 10 of them for $5 on Ebay. Hope I was of assistance...Greg

check if the batteries are in correct, if so check for loose wires.

The Carlon RC8800R door chime, quicks chiming usally within two days of mounting the base unit interior wall. If I take down and re-arrange the 4-D size batteries in sometimes starts chiming again. Is the base unit just a "lemon"?
