looks like a horiz.output transistor is shorted.check it...

Sony KV-32S45... | Answered on Jul 09, 2009

Did you try to manually switch on this tv, if it does go on manually then check your battery or remote. For further problem please reply back.

I would look for intermitent solder connections on the small horizonal driver transformer as well as other HV Componets.(HV Transformer etc.) Also solder up the Vetical output IC. These have been common causes of failures. I would not use the set until these have been checked and soldered. If you don't, a massive failure of the hoizonal circuit and powersupply will occur.
Hope this helps,

The set needs service, count the no of times the RED LED blinks & contact the serv centre as it indicates the part problem.

Sony KV-32S45... | Answered on Jun 12, 2009

Please post the blink count of the standby light. That will indicate the circuit in which the problem was found that triggered the "protect" mode. Further details can be provided once that count is available.

If you still have sound, part of the main power supply is working so the problem is restricted to the deflection-related circuits and probably in the horizontal oscillator circuit responsible for producing the high voltage for the CRT as well as the horizontal deflection. Since it died to a 'dot' the vertical deflection circuit may also be supplied by the action of the horizontal circuit. You will need technical help to restore it.
If you had good picture quality before it died, I would recommend having the set repaired and if and when you decide to buy a new set, store this one (repaired) along with a converter box (for the new digital signal) to use when the new set dies, which it will and much sooner than your Sony.

You have an impending power supply failure and considering how lousy the current crop of flat panel TVs are holding up, I would advise you to try to find a TV repair that is still around. It could also be as simple as a cheap electrolytic capacitor that is filtering filament voltage for the CRT that needs replacement but a competent tech should be able to tell in 10-15 minutes. When these go bad, it slows the warmup of the picture tube.

some time it works mean the tv having dry joint ( loose connection ) inside the PCB pls resolder all parts spacialy system control IC horizontal/ vertical section and power supply board as well . I think no any other issue in this tv pls resolder all part as much as possible

makes a noise
This doesn't tell us much; is it a click or a sharp snapping sound?
The first can be a relay turning on, the second is most likely related to a high voltage discharging.
If it is a relay, then the set could be trying to protect itself from an overload or the power supply has failed; the blinking ON LED is pointing toward that.
If it is a high voltage discharge (you may be able to see it through the vents in the rear housing) then it is possible that an accumulation of dust and household airborne contaminents has created a path that can be removed with some targeted cleaning.

If the power plug is fused (like in UK) check the fuse inside the plug.

Test a different power socket.

If there is no power at all, and the power cord is good, then it is a faulty power suupply board. Probably a capacitor on power board had blown.
The board must be tested and repaired by a technician.
