The power source has failed the big way. Disconnect it from the mains immediately and hopefully all you will need to replace is the source. Otherwise a new pc is mandatory, everything in it was fried.

First try another psu, if it doesnt solve the problem, then the motherboard probably has a serious problem. You may have to change it

if you are replaceing a hard drive all you will need to do is make sure you match it up to IDE ATA133 or SATA type connections. otherwise the hard drive info should be printed on the top of the old drive.

First things first: "work" in giving this away has dodged the "responsible disposal" bullet. Drivers for this unit are probably limited to windows 98 or earlier, as the last Packard-Bell was produced in that era. Drivers for sound in particular were Packard-Bell only, and since they aren't around any more unless you can get your hands on the original installation CD you're out of luck to make the existing soundcard work. You do howrever have the option to install a newer soundcard, that should fix that issue. As for the shutting down, make sure the heatsink has good thermal contact with the processor as it sounds like the processor may be overheating. If there's a fan make sure it is running.

You've got a challenge if you want to see it all work, have fun.

If it is on board sound you probably need the M/soft UAA drivers

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/OTHER-SOUNDCARDS/Microsoft-UAA-Bus-Driver-for-High-Definition-Audio.shtml
Go to the above site and download and install them
then go to device driver right click sound and upgrade them it will go on net to find and install them

Please look on the case of the PC, fron back & sides. There should be a model number. (There is no such number you posted, Packard Bell UTOW CO20).

join and learn how it works 6BQ5 output power amps, Push/pull.
not as good as real CLASS A amps of any kind.
the primary winding on the power transformer AC
may be tapped,
some transformer will run in 3 countries or more and switch or jumper to set , your countries voltage, 100, 120 or 250vac.
Iv'e repaired things like that back to 1965 and Ham gear too.
The primary must be wired correctly and 3 wire plugs best.
Hot
Neutral
Ground (safety)

this:"? M3350

aio-sogrcu5w2ewb4tpvckapjvgs-5-0.jpg connect powered speakers to jack 6 line out.
green jack on most. is that. green means out.
tell helper what sound device you have,
1 common answer is I have some powered speakers. called xyz
then if dead. we make sure speakers work on PC #2 not this PC.
then we check w10 device manager for sound driver errors.
if yes, and I bet yes, due to 8 year age of this beast.
then finding w10 drivers can be hard.
the PC has tag. (sticker label)
this tag is the service tag and all numbers on it matter.
models /p/n and all.
this tells the helper what is inside and what drivers work.
The PC has sound chip that may or may not have windows 10 drivers. in most cases for sound they must come from PB
the sound chip is deeply in-meshed with the HDMI is why.

if the PC is not internet connected why expect w10 PnP to find the drivers, by MS automatic means. answer it can not.
