20 Most Recent HP ProCurve 2650 (J4899A#ACC) 48x10/100 Mbps and 2x1000 Mbps Networking Switch Questions & Answers

If you have forgotten the switch's IP address or administration password you can return the switch to its factory default state by following these steps:
  1. Remove the power cord from the back of the switch.
  2. Connect port 1 to port 2 on the front panel, using a standard network cable.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the switch.
  4. Wait at least 40 seconds before disconnecting port 1 from port 2.
After completing this procedure, the password will be empty, the network address will be returned to the default 192.168.2.10, and all configuration settings will be returned to the original factory defaults. NOTE: Since this process creates a temporary loopback condition on the switch, it is recommended that you remove the switch from a production environment until the process is complete.

Watch this video for switch port access . You will need to be in global config interface mode.

There is no IP address when the switch ships from the factory. It is set by the user and/or the network by DHCP. If you do not know what the IP address was set to, then you'll need to return the switch ti it's factory default configuration. There should be information in the manual for the switch about the default config.

lots of words and means just Dead PC. fans spin.
HP model number HP touchsmart. (no model stated at all)
its dead PC and screen is dead.
most PCs from HP have external display port.
of some kind, Display port or others, the manual covers this but your PC model was not told nor service tag model. told.
The PC is dead, and seems the power button is bad too.
here are some steps used on all laptops
1: remove the huge battery in the lap top, do not make excuses how hard it is to unplug , you bought it so do what must be done,
2: use the AC power pack only, (unpugged for 1hour first)
then plug it in, this pack
3: the PC must not self turn on. so push the power button now see it manually turns on.
4 the BIOS HP logo page shows and BIOS screens work like ESC, F10, F11,
5: if screen is still dead, use the external monitor port and
the Fn+F4 button as the manual tells you to do.

no PC stated at all not even class of PC, desk or laptop. and no parts are free.
the TOUCHSMART word does not tell what you own
that name used back to 2007, 13 years long.
IS THIS AND AIO all in one PC,?
does it have a power pack that in in the line cord
is it the right pack for the AIO>?
AIO PCs only have a few parts inside that are standard, RAM and HDD, all else is HP custom, making them as hard to repair as laptops, lacking those parts custom.
first learn to identify a PC first then tinker.
see examples below.

op, and older HP DESKTOP only 0 years old today 2011

your question lacks a question.

the word hOW TO , too hard to type? IDK, only can I guess you r meanings.
the answer is simple. power cord pulled from wall. AC wall jack.
1: mount the new drive in the HDD cage in side.
2:plug in HDD power cable from PSU.
3: plug in HDD SATA cable from SATA port to HDD.
4: power on PC, and in disk manager assign it a drive letter and format it. bingo works now. that simple,
the service manual stinks,
looks link no drive bay HDD2, there.
looks like no extra power cables for 2nd HDD, if you have no need for DVD , use those 2 cables will work, and if a SSD
recommended, just tie warp the SDD to the case bar just above the existing HDD.

there are no IDE PATA Drives, here per Andrew.
HP does show w10.64bit support, wises.

this PC is 100% SATA drive PC, ! not year 2000- IDE.

hey,
try to press the power button for a forced shut down(maybe 10-15 seconds). then remove the battery. press the power button again, hold it for like 1 minute, release. put the battery again in, and now try a normal power on.

OK w7, you added that thanks.
well , dim features are complex on laptops
I bet it does not stay dim in BIOS screens
the F1 info screen, so...
but does only in windows running, right?

The PC autodims the screen for 2 reasons (by design)
a battery weak. or setup to run dim when on battery only mode, in windows power settings,
reason 2, the screen camera is used to see when the room is dark, if yes, it dims. this to is a a setting in power settings of windows.

click start, click control panel, click power icon.
click advanced, see "power" settings
you will discover many things are (on battery do X)
all laptops with windows, set it as you want.

http://www.pcdied.com/sleep-or-dim.html

also laptops dim if you move the pc from say bright window open (sun filled room)
to a dark room it is a feature on vast laptops
to save battery power, and also dims if the battery is weak or bad. all do that.

and last reload the drivers on you PC
at hp.com
go to hp, click support, then go to your PC find the drivers and load them for Windows 7, only at HP, nowhere else. ok?

recap:
1: dark room PC dims. (auto room dim can be turned off)
2: battery dead, or bad or weak, it dims . on purpose
3: bad w7 drives or screen Grapics chip GPU.
HP has em'
4: corrupted OS, win7 is infected. f11 reload time.
5: screen has CCLF black lamps as all do 2009 and older and all are dim now or dead. or purely random and ddeath soon for the CCLF tubes.
2012 PC this is and is LED so not CCFL but we do always look 2010 and back (age)
