This usually indicates that the mainboard is not able to detect the RAM in the RAM slots. In other words it is saying that there is no RAM installed in the mainboard.

What you can do is clean the RAM slots of dust with a vacuum cleaner and clean the gold finger contacts of the RAM modules with tissue paper.
Push the RAM modules in firmly in the the correct orientation. Notice the cut-out on the RAM modules, between the gold fingered connectors.

It might be possible that the RAM modules that you have currently installed in the system are faulty, in other words they have died. This could be a bit tricky and you may need a computer technician to try some known to be working RAM in your mainboard.

Clean out as much dust as you can from the system, it will help.

Take care!

Down load a manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=mng2ga5QWT68gbtY&content=specifications

You probably have to change the FSB settings
with the jumpers on the mainboard.

Hope this will help you.

Hi. I have seen this problem before.
Although you have the software installed, the device isn't enabled. In order to turn it on, you have to start the audio service.

To do that, click your start button, then click the run button.
Next, type services.msc and press enter.
This will bring up your services console.
Go down to the bottom of the list and you will see Windows audio
click on it, and it will highlight it, as well as give options on the left column.

If the service IS running, then the options will be "stop" and "restart ".
If the service is not running, the only option it will give you is "start".
Start or restart the service, whichever one is available.
Then, double click on the windows audio tab
This will bring up the audio service properties box

Make sure that it is set to automatic.
If it is already set to auto, set it to manual, click apply, then click it back to auto and click apply again.

Next, click on the recovery tab at the top.

On all three selections, choose " automatically restart service" then click apply.

Now exit out of the service console and reboot.

If all goes well, you should now have your audio.

You may have to tell the service "auto" before you can successfully install audio drivers.

call tech support for the asus mb.. explain that the bios is corrupted..

or just turn off the power .. at the wall outlet

and jumper the board to reset the factory defaults for the bios

...

if this fails.. then asus may be able to provide a dos .bin file

renaming the windows file.. will not work!

it is program all contained in a single file and must have windows operational to execute

so... i hate when they write bios update software to operate under windows only

you can ship the board to asus for the bios to be flashed as the last resort

I have the same problem with this mobo, probably related to incorrect detection of the sound chip. Some tools detect it as a Realtek, the SIS utility at SIS site (mfg. of the chipset) detect it as a SIS 7012. No drivers found, except the original, posted at Asus site (if you wish you can give it a try
http://www.4shared.com/file/NvH2ZwfN/Soundmax_ADI_Codec_CS_D1888JCP.html
This driver correspond to an ADI AD1888 as described in the manual. I ask myself, as it seems to be a really cheap and bad Asus sold in our country probably as a kit for cheap desktops.
I will be back as I have to solve this problem fo a friend.

Something like this
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3092427&CatId=318
Everything faster will be held back by your motherboard and would be wasted money.
