I have a question does the first lap top still use the usb cable?
1) the cable is crappy
2) the printers ports my have malfunctioned
If it is:
1) the second computer doesn't have drivers for the usb
- the first laptop may be running on an older service pack so it can bipass the cord.
2) you turned the computer on before the printer.
I have the same problem - how do I get it to print it says READY and its connected to my CPU via a SCSI card 50 pin NOW WHAT???? Do I need to install something else - do I need to use a specific program????
there is a third piece you need to daisy chain the printers together. I do not remember the name off hand.
I was wondering the same thing until I read one of the "full" manuals.
the piece can be found on ebay it has been going out lately for 200-300 dollars. thats why I stopped looking for the piece 2 years ago.
Spring — applies pressure to the thermal head, causing it to contact the thermo-sensitive paper
Controller boards — for controlling the mechanism
I think that you may need to replace your thermal head, A line means there is a place that the head can not head or it cannot recieve data http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWs74J7EfjM How to matinence it and clean the head
This may well be a failure of the cutter switch sensor to reset. This worked for me.
Turn Off the Printer.
Remove both side panels and the plastic panel on the INSIDE of the DOOR on the right hand side. Then close the door and remove the plastic panel UNDER the door. This is held in place by two screws.
You will see a white gear on the bottom right hand side of the door. It is on the underside of the door. Turn this gear untill you can see the cutter move smoothly across the bottm of the door and return to the right side of the door. Listen for a click. This is the switch resetting. Close the door and power up the printer if you still get an error code 0008 or 0007 repeat the resetting process by turning the gear. BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE PRINTER!!
