Hi Anand,

You need to check your power options settings and modify it , so that your monitor does not turn off automatically.

If you are using windows xp , go in control panel and then there would be an icon for power options , double click the power options and then you would find settings which read turn off monitor , turn off hard disk etc... select the turn off monitor to never mode or as per your convenience and you would have your problem solved.

Hope this helps.

Common problem: bad caps.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Connect it to a different computer, to see if the monitor works at all.

Connect a different monitor to your computer, to see if your computer's video-adapter is working.

Hi
I've repaired a lot of these monitors and every one seemed to do something strange. In this case my first thought is that somehow he monitor firmware got zapped when the card was damaged. Although this could certainly fall into the category of an open ground in the cable. My suggestion at this point would be to take it to a reputable repair person and get their estimate or take a look at www.micromendllc.com.

Caps look good? it may be in safety shutdown/restart mode. Try heating up the power supply board with hair dryer to see if it will start up, when bad caps are heated up the caps ESR will go down and may allow the power supply to start up. I use 6vdc small lamp attach to the 5vdc so I can see the lamp comes on or not.
