20 Most Recent Dell E153FPT 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor Questions & Answers

You could probably remove all 3. When you reboot, it will reload the necessary driver(s) (and it might put back the same 3). That monitor could have an audio driver, video driver, USB driver, etc.). Anyway, if the driver(s) do not reload, you could reload it/them manually. To get the driver(s) for your E153FPT, go here:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/dell-e157fpt/drivers

But it should reset itself.

Good luck.

for the quickest fix, you should try a new power supply cord and see if its just a bad cable. almost any monitor cable (dell brand) should work. if you do not see any of the lights on the monitor light up then you have an internal problem and it will be costly to repair. probably better of buying a new monitor.

Okay, in order to fix the drivers you need to

  1. Check the volume control in windows and make sure audio was't muted
  2. Check the audio cable and ensure it is connected to the port on the system
  3. Ensure headphones are not plugged in an aux audio port as they will mute the speakers
  4. Check the audio drivers in Device manager
  5. Try a known good set of speakers (Or CD player headphones) and ensure the audio on the system if functional
  6. If all else fails, replace the speakers ($20 or less at any major department store)

Could you post with more specifics? If you're sure its the speakers then you can get a product that fixes the membrane(a torn membrane sounds like... a torn membrane), or you could replace the speakers, making sure you get replacements with the right voltages(take originals with you to shop). But it also could be a problem that's leading up to the speakers, and that's more tricky. you got to have the equipment to trace the voltages going into the speaker and find the fault, check where it stops. Good luck, and don't get electrocuted please

the monitor does not have speakers built in - you'll need separate speakers for sound.

Sounds like your backlights are going to fail soon. The flickering you see is most likely a problem with the internal components of the LCD monitor itself. Several possible causes exist for such symptoms. These include capacitor failure, bad solder joints, loose CCFL connection or faulty sheilding of the CCFL HV wires, CCFL dying, loose LCD connection, etc.

I can help you repair this problem by providing you with disassembly instructions and troubleshooting to isolate the issue. From there I will tell you how to DIY, or you can mail the faulty board to me for repair. I actually have spare parts for this monitor on hand and will ship it as soon as your old one arrives at my location. Fast turnaround!

I charge a flat rate fee of $40 for my repair service. That includes return postage. You pay for shipping to me.

I will also accept your entire monitor as a trade in towards the purchase of anothor. I have many working LCD's on hand. Prices for Grade A name brand units (Dell. HP, etc) are as follows:
15" - $50
17" - $70
19" - $90

Trade in credit for your old one:
15" - $10
17" - $20
19" - $30

If you pay the shipping on your trade in LCD, I will pay for the shipping of your new one back to you. Otherwise buyer pays shipping cost for any purchased units,

Please vivit my web site, and feel free to call or email me with questions.

I have had the same problem with my dell touchscreen. This problem seems to happen with the newer driver software. I reinstalled the older 5.64 driver and actively touch the screen at start-up when I enter the windows password and it seems to work fine.
