If your GPS is more that 18 months old it may be that the battery has died.

They can be replaced and a good source is Ebay.

About 18 month to 2 years is the expected lifespan.

Its an awfully short lifespan in my view but thats how it is I am afraid.

The fact that you get the green light should mean its charging but its pretty clear its not holding that charge.

Sorry for the bad news.

try the usb cable to your. this is the recommended method to charge a tomtom2.gif when it wont power on. for reasons unexplained by tomtom they do not recommend the car or house charges.

plug it in via the usb cable to your computer for a few hours(make sure the green light is on and nice and bright) then press and hold the power button(this could take up to 20 seconds)

If you have an SD card in try removing that before you power up.

You may also want to try the hard reset.
Paper clip in the tiny hole by the card slot.

Push it in firmly whilst the unit is powered up (not too hard) for about 3 seconds then release
You may have to power down and then up again and even hold down the power button a little longer the first time you do this.

Found the reset switch on GO 4V00.710 - look underneath, where the unit docks - small button - need a paper clip to press
Also, reset switch is documented in the Quick Start Guide - see label 'F' in the 'Your TomTom GO' what's in the box.

Fix it yourself, you need either a new battery and or motherboard. Relativly easy to do! 10 small torx screws for motherboard and 2 ribbons, then a few more screws and loosen the harddrive and screen for battery

Battey and motherboard for less than £50 pounds off ebay

Change the motherboard, green light on and nothing happening is quite common, you can find motherboards on ebay for £22 +p&p.

Its quite easy to do and worth while as the 710 and 910 are still very good units.

When they are nonresponsive about all you can do is call Garmin and hope its under warrenty.
They will ask you if you tried a different charger to charge but you have so the problem isn't power.
It is quite possible it is repairable ie a fuse but Garmin will have to do that for you as it is not something a end user can do.

Wish I had better news for you.
