You can contact the manufacture and order a new remote or you can go to a local electronics store and purchase a universal remote. On the universal remote packaging check to see if it lists your brand.

The power supply is the circuit board that helps the LCD to turn on and provides different voltages to make it work properly. If the voltages are not working properly due to defective parts, it will fail to turn on.
I hope the technician will be able to fix it for you or find a replacement for you.
Good Luck.

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says that the setup code for a Proton TV (without a built-in DVD or VCR) is 0178. I can not guarantee that this number will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.

The power supply most likely.. will it stay on long enough to get picture? If not then maybe the inverter board is bad. Have had a lot of them with leaking capacitors on both boards..

Is it on the out side? It may be a scratch on the display. If that be the case then you are going to have to live with it or replace the LCD. Replacing the LCD is a real big cost if not costprohibitave.

The capacitors on the power supply are probably leaking. If you can find a tech who still can do component leval repair he can replace the caps, and not the power board.. Much cheaper
The power supply is under rated and don't seem to last long. Maybe a couple of years... If higher voltage caps are used to repair it the longer it will last.

Is that a problem? Check the hole size and choose a screw with a head that is bigger than the hole size. Typically select a minimum of 4mm diameter screw.

our tv done the same thing, go off and on, with the blue, we thought it was over loaded, we plug them in two different sockets. it worked so far.

You can try to unplug the TV for that long and see it it works.
There aren't service parts available for these LCDs.
If unplugging the TV does not work, the power supply will need to be repair.
I service these power supplies.
If you need further assistance. You can send me an email to jah2mil@hotmail.com

Those are the symptoms when the power supply is giving up.
Unfortunately there are not many replacement service parts around to swap the power supply assembly, but It will need to be fix to the component level instead.
I service these power supplies.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

No, but if you get a storm with lightning and have many electronic items that are dead, they will cover all of them! The INS companies never come to your house to look. You call a TV repair shop for "dead lightning" receipts. Say you broke the screen moving it after it died.
If you purchase any electronics with an American Express card then American Express will cover it for 1 year after the Manufacturer warrenty expires!
