You are correct, the motor is done. Look at your local vac store for a quality vacuum made by Sebo or Miele. Replacing motors in chinese made vacs is a waste of money as the whole product was made to last only a couple of years

I also have a loose belt and have bought additional belts but have the same problem. I put the it around the metal rotor and around the brush roller a shown by he Hoover video, and it is loose.

Replace the Roller Brush. Sounds like bearing in it is locking up and the the belt is slipping and not turning the Roller Brush as it has a locked up bearing. You will need to go ahead and get a replacement belt just in case you have stretched the older belt to a bigger size. I had this same experience with a Hoover and it solved my problems of "rubber burnt smell".

If you light and nozzle motor both go off at the same time, you might have a bad power cord. Mine had this problem which I could verify by jiggling/twisting the cord near the strain relief on the nozzle. It would go on and off as I did this. The cord is cheap to replace, around $13 for the part shipped. Part number is 59134072.

There could be several issues with this. First determine if the problem is in the nozzle, hose or wand. This can be done by turning the unit on and wiggling the connections. One known issue with canisters is the cord that sticks out the back of the power nozzle goes bad, due to movement and normal use. There are also 2 electronic control boards inside the canister that give some problems. If you are unsure about looking at it, take it to a qualified repair shop.

S3765-040, power head would not run when the handle was elevated. Problem was with wiring from connecter plug on power head swivel into the power head itself, because of the design the wire tends to develop a short. Test it by turning on the vacuum, elevate the handle, then when it stops running move the visible part of the wiring with you foot/hand. If it starts/stops then you have a short. Replacement part was about $10.

If its 2 months old I wouldnt stress looking at anything. Box it up and take it back. Something that flimsy doesnt make sense to keep does it?

Hi carolinearch...
Sounds like you have a broken belt...remove the bottom of your vacuum and replace the broken belt and you should be good to go.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Hi,

Usually, if the brush is not spinning, the belt is the problem. Did you check to see that the belt is seated properly? Does the belt have anything rubbing against it that you might have picked up from the carpet?
On the Hoover Wind Tunnel, you can remove the unscrew the bottom plate and remove it with a phillips screwdriver., remove the agitator shield and check for objects stuck under it. Clean that area thoroughly and be sure everything is in place correctly.

Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,

Handie Andie
