20 Most Recent IBM ThinkCentre A51 PC Desktop Questions & Answers

Hi. I hope this helps, as this happens to alot of pc's.

Most pc's bois has what is called a "wait" state. Sometimes, it gets stuck in this "wait" mode and you have to "unfreeze" it.

Here is what you do.

First unplug your pc for about a minute without doing anything else to it.
Next, without it being plugged in, push and hold the power button, and continue to hold it for 45 seconds.
Next, release the power button, and plug pc back in.
Usually, this will unstick your pc, if not then there is a part failure issue going on.
To find this out, girst remove memory chips one at a time, and try rebooting, if it frees up that way, then one of the memory modules are faulty.
If that doesn't do the trick, then move on to the next thing, sound card, dvd drive, hard drives, this may take a little time, but in the end, if it is a faulty part, you will be able to sort it out.

I hope that this helps you today.

Simple dear, I think that you can see the power led and hdd led but it wont boot. Right. So switch the system and than open the cabinet and than remove the RAM , CLEAR THE DUST ON THE SLOT AND RAM. THAN REPLUG IT IN THE SAME WAY. PLEASE DO NOT INSERT IT FORCEFULLY BECAUSE IT WILL GO EASILY IF YOU ARE INSERTING IT IN RIGHT WAY. SO CHECK THE POSITON OF THE NOTCH ON BOTH THE RAM AND SLOT OK

fan failure is when the fan that cools the machine stops working.the error always tells u which fan is not working, usually the c.p.u fan or the system fan mounted on the casing, simply check which one is not rotating and change it.or(not recommended) if it is the system fan, just go to bios settings and dissable it.hope it helps
