I'm certain there is a fuse, probably on the power supply board, to protect against the possibility of fire. Unfortunately, these are not normally user replaceable as they are often 'micro' fuses in a cylindrical case ~ 1/4" in diameter. Another type looks a lot like a low-power resistor with leads at either end. Both of these are soldered onto the board and normally aren't visibly blown but have to be checked with a meter for continuity.

Ok IF you have performed all those tests and done exactly as you say, then i can say 100% for sure that the printer has faulty electronics. I have seen this type of symptom countless times in my shop over the years and always indicates the internal electronics, often but not always the USB interface port electronics, but it can be anything in fact.
You will have to be careful as to repair as the cost of such, will/may quickly rise to the cost of a new printer with a warranty.
get it looked at by the professionals ask FIRST for a "Quote" ONLY and go from there if costings are acceptable, else get a new unit.

This maybe a small bit of paper in the rollers somewhere you need to find it or it is need of a good clean.

You can also try this.

Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Are you sure that there's no tiny piece of torn paper left inside the machine? It's very difficult to get all of it out if paper comes out in bits.

First of all please make sure that all the cables from/to the printer are connected properly. Now please use different power socket to make sure that the printer is getting power. If so then we can reset the printer. To reset the printer unplug it from/to the power socket and mains and let it sit without power for more then 10 minutes and then replace all the cables and print a test page. If still the issue is not resolved then you'll need to replace the printer cable. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

You could purchase a ethernet print server which will allow you to connect your printer to the router via ethernet cable. I recommend the TPLink TL-PS110U. I use this for one of the printers in my office.

Alternatively, you could purchase the TPLink
TL-WPS510U. This is a wireless print server. It will give you some freedom if you wish to locate your printer to somewhere other than beside your router.

For installing a wireless printer on Windows XP, wireless router is an essential device.

Follow the recommended steps mentioned on the installation CD of the router, and set-up a wireless network.

Since several computers or laptops will access the printer, it0 1is recommended to connect the wireless printer to the main computer through the USB port.

To begin the installation process on Windows XP, access the network setting in the Control Panel, and activate the file and printer sharing option in the LAN setting.

This will allow the operating system to recognize the availability of a wireless printer.

Now, click the Start button, go to Devices and Printers, select Add a Printer option.

Click the second option- Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

The computer will search for available printer and reflect it on the screen.

Click Finish; and the printer is ready to begin the printing process.

The first thing I would assume is that your are connected to this through a wireless network. I have another model of the Pixma printer and I have the same issue whenever I try to use the buttons on the printer to scan. For some reason that button does not realize where you are trying to scan to over the network and will not work. In order to scan you have to start it from the GUI, not from the printer itself. Hope this helps, if you have any more issues let me know.

Dont go to Cartridge World :(. This problem is sometimes caused when a cartridge has been re-filled and re-set too many times, The chip corrupts and causes some very weird messages. Simply try a New Set of Cartridges (Not reconditioned or Refilled). GnL Products in NSW have new compatible cartridges for about $10 each. gnlproducts@live.com.au

You probably have something stuck in the paper feed or under the print head.
First try moving the print head left and right with the printer off. If that doesn't work then, Try looking for jam in the paper feed and specifically under the rollers. A small piece of paper or other debris, like fallen paper clip, staple. postage stamp are things I have seen stuck in printers that cause jams and error codes.
If these solutions don't work, post comment here.
