Hi,

According its manual, turn off the printer, and unplug the power cord from the power supply. After a while, plug the power cord of the machine back in, and then turn on the machine. If the same error occurs, you should contact a Canon service representative.

Good luck.

Hi,
i was facing same issue with my device i have tried below method to fix it,

Regarding Error code 6A00. I have a Canon Pixma iP5000. I got that code. No easy answers on the net so I took it apart myself. The covers are all snap locked on. It was a bit painful but I got the side and top covers off to reveal the print head. There is a device that slides back n forth and acts like a window cleaners squeegie on the printhead. This mechanism seemed to be stuck at its full extention rather than being back at home base. Every time I turned it on and off I could see it tried to move but seemed to be stuck. I gave it a little assistance and that released it. I think it had become glugged up with drying ink and that had acted like a glue holding it out at full extension. The mechanism that drives the sliding squeegie relies on a spring
for it to return. The spring wasn't strong enough to over come the gluey ink and so the whole thing jammed up which is probably what the code means - jammed mechanism. If you are going to try it. Do not force any part of the covers. There are little arrows in the plastic indicating where the snap locks are, stick a flat head screw driver in to release. Trial and error will release the right ones first. You'll release one part only to find it hooked up at the next snap lock. Some are hidden under or on opening covers so keep looking. The base seems to be securly attached to the workings so dont try and get it off. Just top and sides. Ink is water based so a damp rag is all you need to clean. (you can try all these if you have good with technical things)

hope this will help you
Thanks for using Fixya

error [5020] is not big problem. You just need to release the scaner lock switch and turn the power off and on back. Then you may enjoy to use your PIXMA MP810

Hi There

Summary

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

The unit is not homing, check for obstructions on carriage path (iron rode). Please see blow video to locate "carrage"

Hi You can Try 2 things.

ERROR 5100 means that there is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Next try.

It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire.
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.

Try this,

scan the document to the computer, then view it using a picture viewer.

You may see that the scan is faulty!

The printer may be printing exactly what it sees!

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Brand new cartridge or refilled one? If refilled cartridge, just wait for 30 minutes after refilling and use good quality of ink. It's caused by bad ink flow. While ink spray (bubbling) form head, ink at ink tank not flow to head.
