When it is not in the user manual, you should not try this. Modern electronics are difficult to repair. When you try to remove something from a digital camera, it could be not even the certified repair centres will accept it for repair. So unless you already wanted to trow it away, please don't doe this.

I had the same problem with my flash not working on any setting, but I found a way to fix it: hit the menu button, make sure the "rec mode" choice is set to normal instead of burst. I think the burst mode takes multiple shots in a row, so the flash isn't compatible with that setting?

If the lines are on the display all the time, but you can't see any line on any picture when you view it on a computer, the display is defect. If you can live with that, leave it that way, because most of the time a repair can cost as much as a new camera.
If you try to make a picture in the dark and one or more strong lights are in the frame, that can cause white lines too, but they will be gone, as soon as you are in normal light again.

I have had success with this... Download this photo recovery software called asoftech photo recovery, follow the steps here
how to recover deleted photos from camera

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around $2 on Amazon.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
