Well that must be very annoying. If you have windows then it should be that hard to fix. You must first verify that you have a wirless card and that can be done by going to your control pannel then into System then into device manager then scroll down and select Network Adapters and expand the list and you should see two one from your ethernet connection and one for your wireless card.

Some sites suggest unistalling it then rebooting your PC and when windows reloads after signing in then it will detect it as new hardware and instantly look for and download any device drivers there maybe.

I ran into something weird yesterday myself on a customer's laptop. He had everything in and correct but I had to run a repair and diagnostic tool from windows to get the wifi to scan and detect a network. To do that just go down to the bottom right of your screen and click on the two screens together that is your internet icon. In some cases it may just have a pc screen and a red X by it. Right click it and select repair and diagnose (if you have vista or win7) it should scan you system to see what can be fixed and give you options at the end. Select the relavent one to your wifi issue and finish with the repair tool and then you should have it in working order and you can setup the connection from there.

It sounds like you are not getting or hearing any post or beep codes. That would tell us exactly what the problem is.

If you are getting some life out of it then it does narrow things down. On a laptop my first question would be has it been overheating. What you have described is typical of a bad cpu. And those are usually pretty bullet proof except in laptops due to overheating. Once they are damaged all you can do is clean it out and replace the cpu. If ti was shutting down suddenly or seemed warm before it died that was most likely due to dirty vents and cooling system.

If it was your ram you should get nothing at all, it won't even try to start. You can rule out the ram just by swaping it out and trying to start it. If it has two sticks of ram just put one in and try it then take that out put the other in. There is a possability of the ram that is being accesed first being bad. So it starts being used then hits the bad area and poof. Not that common but can happen.

The motherboard is a bit harder to pin down the exact problem as it is so integrated. Without a post code we can't tell what part of it failed only that it has. So to narrow it down to this we have to make sure it isn;t cpu or ram first.

None of these are specific faults on your laptop these are common to all brands.

Hi,
USB drivers will be automatically installed by your operatinf system. The thing is you need to install the driver for any device which you are going to connect via USB.

For example, if you are going to connect your printer to USB port, then you have to install the driver for your printer only and not for the USB port.

I hope this is helpful for you to understand about your problem.
Thanks

Please replace battery power pack.

Is the battery fully charged? If so unplug the device before turning it on. My roomates HP will shut off if plugged in while powered on it is most likely due to the compound on the heatsink.

If you can see the CD Drive icon in My computer, it shows that at least Windows recognises the drive. If you are unable to see the drive listed in explorer (not the cd name but the actual drive icon), then please post a reply.

Other than that, you are describing what I think may be a faulty drive. If you open the case, check to see if the drive cable is in good contact with the connector and motherboard.

I don't own one of these laptops but I would think the fuse for the charger would probably go in the plug.

Hope this helps!
