It appears your video driver has become corrupted. You need to boot into safe mode go to device manager and UNINSTALL "Display Adapter" then reboot. Hopefully windows will install "Generic" Video driver and it will boot up normally. Then you can download the latest drivers for your card and reinstall.

Look inside to see if you have bad caps in the power supply, see example of failed monitors with bad caps here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

1 use the install disk that came with the monitor.
If this does not work then you may have an issue with the electronics.
2. take unit to a certified technician to check the circuitry.
3. this could be a inverter gone bad.

HI there,

Problem : no power
Action : * Make sure power button or switch is ON.
* Make sure A/C power cord is securely connected to the LCD display.
* :Plug another electrical device (like radio) into the power outlet to verify that the outlet is supplying proper voltage.

Problem : Power is ON but no screen image.
Action : * Make sure the video cable supplied with the LCD display is tightly secured to the video output port on the back of the computer. If the other end of the video cable is not attached permanently to the LCD display, tightly secure it to the LCD display.
* Adjust brightness and contrast.
* If you are using an Macintosh older than G3, you need a Machintosh adapter.

Hope this helps.
Have a goo day.

This could be one of a couple of things.
1. The cable that you are using may be damaged, if so, wiggling it back and forth / tightening the connection / looking for bent pins on the cable and straightening with help to diagnose. Replacing the cable is the best remedy.
2. Check if Internet Explorer 7 or higher has been installed. If start Internet explorer, click tools, internet options, advanced and switch off the "Always use clear type for HTML" option.
3. Check if the red tint is still there when not using in dual screen mode. This will highlight a configuration issue with the dual screen setup.
4. Try a different refresh rate, RGB colour balance, resolution, etc to try and fix the issue.
5. Try the monitor on a different PC.
6. Try a factory reset on the monitor.

I can confirm the number 3 solution. I have fixed a bunch of these now.
Replace capacitor C202, 680uf 25V. It is usually visibly damaged. It should be a low impedance type, often known as "suitable for switch mode power supply".Even yesterday.

Sorry about your problems with the View Sonic 19” Monitor.
1st. thing you have to decide is weather the unit is worth repair and if you have the technical background to complete the repair.!!
If the power Led stay’s on and the video blanks out, it is most likely the backlight tube.
2nd. You can tell for sure, if you use a strong flashlight and see data on the screen.
If you can see data or images, it is the backlight. If the inverter board was bad, it would shut the power circuit down and you would not have continues power from the supply.
3rd. The backlight is not an easy job to undertake. Again, if you have little or NO technical background, you may want to pass on this project.
4th. If you decide to take on this project, you will need to order the backlight and if you are replacing that, you might as well check the Caps. And other components in the power supply and inverter board.
5ft. The backlight tube is cheep and can be purchased locally for under $10.00 USD
I needed to order a 15.1/4” tube for a laptop and decided saving 2 or 3 bucks was worth the investment. However, I ordered from China and had my tubes held up for over 5 working days and could have walked to the manf. And back by the time I had recvd. them.
Decide weather you want to repair it yourself, or have it serviced. A 19” View Sonic can be purchased for under $100.00 New with High Def.
The in shop repair with have to be more than the unit is worth.
Hope this information has been of some help.
If you decide to take on the job, drop me an email and I will go into better detail on what and how to do.

Speakers built in to monitors are notorious for being quiet. But, check the sound in control panel and see if it knows you r useing that type of speakers. And of course check monitor itself for a manual volume control.

Sounds like that monitor has reached the end of the road. I would recommend purchasing another monitor, other than view sonic. Purchase a Dell..they are great!

Change the resolution. Right click in the middle of the screen over nothing, and select properties then select the settings tab and move the slider left for larger resolution.

Most likely the LCD panel is defective. Since this is an older product it more cost effective to purchase a newer product with more features and performance.

Test the switch for continuity in the open and closed position. Sometimes defective switches function mechanically but not electrically.

Hello Edelberto, this monitor does not disarm by the back to disarm the monitor, you have to remove, with great care, the front frame and there you will see the obstacles you have to remove the panel assembly and the platelets
I hope you can disarm it, comment the results
