Whirlpool RBD305PD Electric Double Oven - Page 6 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.!@#@!

Perhaps item number 37 has opened (died) killing the circuit to the elements from L-2. Looks like it $35 bucks.
Better verify it is bad before ordering. Now I know the following video ain't a bult in oven but I want you to see how important it is to turn off power to this oven before attempting repairs:

Thanks for your question!
I'm sorry that you haven't received an answer yet.
The response rate on FixYa FREE questions is usually over 80%, but sometimes questions go un-answered when:
1. the question is unclear, incomplete, or poorly worded...
2. the question is mis-categorized - so the correct experts aren't viewing it...
3. the question requires an answer for something that cannot be explained online adequately...
4. specific training, tools, or equipment are required to avoid injury or death...
5. the Experts that are online simply don't have the resources to answer your question fully...
Please feel free to re-work your question if you feel one of these may be the reason.
Of course you are not required - but converting your question to a PAID one usually increases the reply rate as well.

Hello there: your home town
This F-2 code refers two 1 of 2 things first is the electronic touch pad that has shorted out and needs to be replaced so have this checked first next is the electronic controle circuit or ecc for short .
some models the touch pad is part of the ecc ok.
you can remove the touch pad or the ecc and have them tested at any appliance parts center if you have one in your home town
If your oven still has the warranty this will be covered under this ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

element may have shorted . ck the element first and if bad replace it then reset the house fuse and retry. mm

Whirlpool... | Answered on Jul 15, 2010 | 86 views

1st check you breaker. If the oven is getting power then it's most likely to be one or more of the thermal fuses. There is one thermal fuse that feeds the control board. It's located in the wiring harness and accessible from the front. The other fuses are chassis mounted on the back or top so the oven has to come out of the wall.

This is a common failure in the oven control board on these units. We repair this often, which can save you some dollars compared to buying a new one.

Hi,
What is your exact model #? This sounds like it could be other things besides the control panel or it could be the control panel... It could be as simple as a loose wire somewhere. If your model is RBD305PD?? control panels are available however parts alone could be in excess of $200-300. I may or may not be worth replacing at that price... I would guess most techs would charge $300-600 or more in some places... depending on the exact model and how difficult it is to access.
