Double click on cdgone.zip to unzip it.
Right click on cdgone.reg, click Merge.
Accept registry merge.
Restart computer.
or...
2. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
You'll see two items:
- ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
- ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstall. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
Incase this doesn't work please perform the below menioned step:- Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista), type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy.
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD (rarely in Vista case).
If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.
Thank you for your patience and best wishes for your effort.

most likely, the drivers on the CD are not compatible with Win 7. try to download the drivers from the Lenovo support site. look for a compatible Win 7 drivers for your audio controller.

Hello
For the problem of dvd drive, you need to clean dust from lens of dvd drive using moist cotton or tissue paper, if it does not fixed then the dvd drive need to be repaired or replaced.
For the shut down problem you need to change the power scheme in screen saver tab. choose never turn off option from the power option.
feel free to get more help, do rate the solution if this helps
good luck

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your Lenovo laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Make sure your "num lock" key isn't enabled.

Also, make sure the fn or function key isn't stuck.

Hi,

Is there power when you turn the system On?

In your case it is very difficult to find out which is causing the system not to power, this can be multiple devices on your ssytem.

trying to eliminate one device after another try following the steps below:

>remove the Battery from the system, unhook the adaptor as well then Press and Hold down the power button for 7-10 seconds to drain any power on your motherboard.

>after power draining the system connect the adaptor to your laptop, do not insert the battery yet, Power the system without the battery, if the system turns on leave it turned on for about a minute then shut it down normally.

>insert the battery to the laptop turn the system on if this turns on without any error then your concern is probably ok and fixed.

>but if the system still does not power up having the battery connected to the machine a device on your system can or maybe damaged either the Battery or the Motherboard having an issue with the battery conencted to the machine...

if your system is in warranty call Lenovo and have it sent to teh service center for proper checking and repairs.

  • First, you'll need the DiskPart utility on the system you will use to prep the thumb drive. This is a free disk partitioning utility that is likely already installed on your Windows system. If not, you can download DiskPart here.
  • Launch the DiskPart utility by typing diskpart at the Start Menu.
  • Then run the list disk command to check the status of your drive.
  • Now run select disk 1 where the "1" is actually the corresponding number of your USB drive.
  • Run clean.
  • Once the thumb drive is clean, you can run create partition primary.
  • Now make the partition active by entering active
  • Then you need to set up the file system as Fat32 by running format fs=fat32 quick (quick, of course, specifies that you want to perform a quick format to speed up the process).
  • Entering the assign command gives the USB drive a drive letter, making it easy to access from Windows Explorer
  • Then you can copy everything from the Windows 7 installation DVD onto the USB key (a simple drag and drop will do).
  • Now you can insert the thumb drive into the system you want to install Windows 7 onto and boot the system. The installation will now proceed as usual-but faster.

If you need more help come back.

Post / thumbs / testimonial are welcome!

As far as I know there are no drivers for your inbuild webcam for Windows 98, why you downgrade your system?? XP is better and you will not need drivers with xp for your webcam.

Hi Friend, In this case i would recommend you to please connect any external monitor to the laptop and check if you have the same issue in the external as well.
If the external one has the same issue, then it is probably the graphics card that is causing this issue, so, you can try updating the video drivers
If the external one is working fine, then I believe that the LCD of the laptop has some issues,

Your battery is flat and probably not charging anymore. You can find cheaper replacements on Ebay.
