Hi,
by the sounds of it the internal transformer could be duff. You need to take readings from the transformer using a multimeter to check correct voltages are coming out of the transformer to their destinations. I would also chek the capacitors and other components on the chain pre and post transformer to make sure none of them are damaged too.

The "audio jacks" on the rear of your Samsung TV are intended to connect TV audio to an amplifier. Your CV XD3s should be connected to the amplifier output.

"Sherwood Receiver" doesn't really tell us much about that end of the scenario.

Look at this picture of the sub amp.

You COULD run the Main speaker output to the large Red/Black speaker inputs, then some more wires Out from the other Red/Black connectors to your Main Speakers. That way your amp volume control will affect both equally.

Tweak the sub volume, crossover and phase to match it up to your mains.

Hi, you may try a simple repair by testing speakers continuity. Or do some board inspection and resoldering.

if a fuse does not blow when a short is present then the wire or unit will catch fire. You have a dead short most likley in the subwoofer. If you unplug the subwoofer and the fuse does not blow then your unit failed.

Pay really close attention to how the speaker is wired and make a written note, maybe a polaroid, even video, since it is a single speaker you hopefully will not have problems with the mess of wires.

Speaker may be blown, pull it from the case and connect a spekaer wire you know is working to the sub, if no sound its blown. If sound then you have a problem with the connections or the sub pwer from the stereo.
