Hi,

The error 06 comes after start up and machine in auto test - happens because of more than one problem. However first unplug the machine and then remove the water tank filter (the cylinder inside the water tank) and wash it up. Actually the filter should probably be replaced. However fix it back in the water tank and tide it safely upon the exit ring.
Now restart the machine and let it perform the automatic self testing.

Please get back to us if you have any further query.

Have a nice day.

Did this problem exist before your fix? Make sure the hoses are the correct way around on the flow meter and check the wires are plugged on correctly. It is possible to offset the plug on some models.

For mine, the solution, which also applies to other similar Krups machines, was to replace the seal at the bottom of the boiler. (#MS-5015004). This seal was torn. While in there, I also replaced the piston (#MS-0697072), which seemed like a good idea, since its O-rings seal the top of the chamber. I got my parts from Nelson Appliance.

To replace the seal (from memory, so there might be some details missing or incorrect):

1. Remove drip tray, coffee drawer, water tank, and side bin
2. Remove top metal cover and one screw underneath that holds down the plastic insert
3. Remove the one screw that holds the cover inside the bean hopper and carefully pop off the grinder adjustment knob. The hopper should now come off.
4. Slide the front plate (gray/silver plastic) up until it pops off. Remove the four screws underneath it.
5. Remove the screws from the top of the unit (two at front, one in a recessed hole in the back).
6. Remove the two screws under the water tank.
7. Pry/pop the top off, and pry the side/back cover off.
8. Unplug the grinder from the circuit board, remove the two screws that hold it in place, and remove the grinder.
9. Remove the coffee line from the piston. Remove its clip and then remove the two screws underneath it.
10. At this point, you will need to disconnect most of the other wires from the circuit board or the components they go to, and you will need to unbolt the piston carrier, so that you can remove the frame that holds the grinder.
11. Remove the three screws that hold the boiler to the base.
12. Holding the shaft from underneath, remove the screw that holds the screen in the middle of the plunger in the boiler.
13. The plunger and shaft can now be removed.
14. The seal goes in the hole at the bottom of the boiler that the shaft runs through. I used a toothbrush handle to push the new one into place from the bottom. Make sure the lip of the new one is fully seated in the opening (look at it from the top of the boiler and work it into place while apply pressure from below). Once it's properly seated, there should be noticeable drag on the plunger shaft when it is moved inside the seal.
15. Reassembly is the reverse of removal.

It is probably blocked or dirty inside. Try cleaning tablets other wise see the other posts for cleaning the pressure valve inside the machine.

that means that the steamer is not generating enough pressure steam.

This happens either because there is not enough heat, or if you release the steam when pressure is not enough.

Very common problem with the american maid makers.

bear also in mind that Krups are not the best at frothing milk, and this is also a basic model.

If you want the best capuccino Coffee machine, buy the italian ones, Gaggia, Delonghi, Ariete etc. that are all great at this, or get a bigger Krups as a replacement like the Krups XP405040 that is also good at capuccino

xp7225, the grinder in possibly plugged at the discharge,
you may have to remove the grinder to get it cleared-when doing so check the O-rings on the top plunger.

to disassemble start by removing the front trim. this is TRICKY, pull out a bit at the bottom and slide up at the same time it should release and you can access the shrews and remove the top, OYA remove the water tank and bean bin!
then remove shrews on top including under the the grate and the piston has a spring a the discharge shoot gently move it wile removing the 2 shrews holding the grinder in place, you may be able to gently lift the grinder up. wires are a bit long, place a rag or paper towel at bottom of pocket to prevent anything like shrews from falling though and you can remove the motor from the grinder by removing the shrews under it with a stubby shrew driver. BUT if the wires will not pull out enough..THEN you have to remove the sides and back.. remove by taking out the screws at the front and top leave the bottom and front in place..slide the back and sides together away from the back.....
open the cover over the wires MARK and record all wire positions unplug the the wire to to the grinder follow wires to find them.....if you have to untangle by removing the board USE CAUTION the connections are FRAGILE...up the spade connections first then lift the top of plastic and pull the board out and away!!! BE SURE TO NOTE WIRES there is ON wire diagram available !!!!
reverse to put things back together... GOOD LUCK
