TH-42PZ80U Panasonic Plasma, red light flashes 10 times
Panasonic said "A" board,
A board SOS Detect (Explanation)
10 Blinks SOS: The voltage regulators IC5400 and IC5401 in the A board generate SUB9V and SUB5V. The 9V and 5V from these ICs are monitored by IC1100. Any abnormality on the SUB9V or SUB5V lines, triggers the shutdown circuit and the MPU shuts down the unit. The power LED blinks 10 times.
But need to measure the connection SC2, if it short, it will be the SC board.
The knowledge obtain from: Real case of repair by myself.
Information from Panasonic training manual.

PLASMA GO BLACK AFTER FEW
Unplug the TV for few minutes, say 15 minutes and then turn it ON. If it still shows the same problem, this is an internal failure and needs repair. Kindly provide few more details to diagnose the problem :-
1. Is this an issue even if you play Blur Ray or DVD player?
2. How old is the unit?
3. Kindly provide the blinking sequence like 3 blinks then pause and then 3 blinks or no sequence at all?
Let me know,so that we could proceed.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

IT WILL NOT TURN ON THERE IS POWER AND THERE S A
Thanks for using FixYa. 10 blink error in your Plasma TV means that the A Board has gone bad and should be replaced. You can also open the back of the unit and check the main board (A Board) first for any blown/bad components as the board itself is around $200. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

I have one fine (1mm)
This can be caused by these defects:
1 - the connections to the plasma panel are loose. To fix that you must open the case of the tv and reseat all connectors to the panel.
2 - the memory of the image processor(or in rarer cases th processor itself) has failed so you end up with image corruption - the image board must be replaced; this will cost you around $150, without labor. By your description this appears to be your case.
3 - the plasma panel itself has suffered a damage in the pixel lines connections - this cannot be fixed, terminal, the tv should be used as is or junked.

Cant load channel sound but no picture
First reset it to factory default: While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the TV, press [MENU] button of the remote control 2 seconds, the self check screen will appear, then Unplug Power to reset.
If doesn’t work, update the software, if still not work, let me know.

TV will not turn on, no red light
First make sure that it is plugged and properly connected to the power source. If it's properly plugged in and you still don't get the red light, check the power outlet by looking at your circuit breaker. Make sure that the breaker supplying the outlet for your television is turned on. If not, reset the breaker by turning it off and then turn it on again. Bottom line is, if you do not have a red standby light, it is most likely that you are not getting any electric supply to your tv.

We have a 50inch plasma and when we attempt to
The most common cause of Failure in this unit is power supply failure caused by failed capacitors.
A visual inspection is The easiest way to identify and confirm bad capicitors on the power supply.
Such a capacitor will show one or more of these symptoms:
1) Bulging of the vent on the top of the capacitor. (The 'vent' is the impression stamped in the top of the can. The impression forms the seams of the vent. It is designed so that if the capacitor becomes pressurized it will split at the seams relieving the pressure rather than making it explode.)
2) Sitting crooked on the circuit board as the bottom rubber plug is pushed out.
3) Electrolyte (a crusty brown substance) leaked onto the board from the base of the capacitor
4) Venting from the top of the capacitor, visible as rust-like brown deposits, or a visible hole in the vent
Once the power supply is repaired or replaced your tv should work normally
