Tv pic keeps going to vivid mode and settings
Yes if the TV is in Showroom mode it will do that. It is to correct for all the would-be button pushers. There is key combination to fix that on my Samsung DLP. I hope to never set and thus have to remove it. I recommend AVSforum.com and for you to find the thread on your model. Vivid is a good word as is showroom to use to search. You might try Google with KDL... and those words to search but the board is better. First check how many responses before reading all, it can run to hundreds of pages and they have their own search engine. Sorry, I could not find it in a medium search, so good luck.

Very poor picture when the television is first
Caused by failure of the LCD Panel. The fact that it only happens on a cold start means the inverters (part of the LCD Panel) are bad and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD Panel. The Part is very expensive (usually about $2000) and time consuming to replace (need to take whole TV apart).

Pixel reduced "yellowish" line from top to bottom of the screen.
Usually something of this nature is the ccft bulb that is in the unit. Given the size of the set that you have, I would take it in to be repaired. IF the come and look at it, it is a trip charge. The unit can be repaired for less that it is worth. Call and get bids. There is a chance that it is a board issue but with you description it sounds like a flourescent backlight tube.

Picture & sound go off for 1-2 minutes, then return.
The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.
I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Hook up of dvd to tv
hey I think you need to use component cables blue green red from the player to the tv, make sure the blue green red ports are also on the tv, note: red yellow white composite cable will not interchange with blue green red component cable or connection.
simplify- blue green red= component
red white yellow=composite
*wires must match colors on both tv and player inputs.
then set your input on your tv to where you conected the cable.

Sony 52" Bravia LCD will drop picture and sound for 1-2 seconds
the only thing that i can think of is that the cables and connections are bad but if that is not the case it may be the internal components of the tv. my guess is that the tv was dropped or jumbled around while transported and what happened was internal components were broken or just mixed up so go to the retailer and get a refund or a new tv. hope this helps

The color on my 3
Hi, it could be the LCD cable It's called It's called Red Solarization
. It could be the LVDS
cable..or the panel control board...or the panel itself..some control boards only come with panel..unless you've changed a panel before I would advise you to take to a repair shop now the price will vary, if its the lcd panel
it self the price could range 400/700 USD
however this is less likely or it could just be the Red Solarization
(lcd cable) which will cost 20/30USD. either way i would reccoment taking it to the repair facility here
is a list of places.

We lose audio on our Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100
This problem appears to be an issue with numerous Sony Bravia owners of the same model. Although still seeking a soulution, it would appear that our cable provider (Verizon) has replaced all of their components and the Geek Squad from Best Buy where we purchased the unit, points the finger at Verizon. None of our other Fios-equipped TV's exhibit this problem so I am glad we bought the service plan with the TV and will continue to seek a remedy.
