simply you just replace thermistor in order to activate your unit.

You will probably have to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement. Sometimes you can get lucky on ebay. These items aren't typically found easily if you don't go through them.

Where abouts are you? There are universal remote controls. I sell a remote called a AC208 that is universal for all units and is a good unit. In my opinion you will have next to no luck getting a second hand one for your model and If I (or anyone else) would have to get one for Hitachi it would be a couple of hundred dollars where is a universal one is really cheap.

Here is a example of one

Do you have 24volts at the contactor when the T-stat. is set to cool or heat if unit is a heat pump? The outside unit must have 24v at the contactor to engage

Check to make sure that you have the correct voltage going to the motor. It sounds like you lost one of your legs of power which would give you 110v instead of 220v. Or it could be in the pc board.

Try this:
It's a different model than mine, but the remote and the commands appear to be similar.

You can try universalremote.com but it cost me 15USD for digital delivery. Its better than being cold and I have spent hours on the net to no avail.

Check your air filter and evaporator at the indoor, and also the outdoor condenser coil if clean, be sure that the outdoor has no obstruction to both front and back of the unit. If dirty then clean both indoor and outdoor. If clean let the ice melt by turning of the unit and unplug the power cord or off the circuit breaker to reset the error if error is present. And on the unit again and observe if icing is present when unit is operating. If icing is present after 10 to 30 min of operation then the unit is under charge. And while unit is operating adjust your thermostat to higher temp. to check if thermostat is operating normally. If the outdoor will trip off after the adjusting the temp. then your thermostat control is ok if not then the thermostat control have a problem.

An easier solution would be to connect it to an UPS. May not be the cheapest though.

It's either the compressor or it's out or low on freon. You have a fan motor which blows and a compressor that cools. If you can hear the compressor go on, your out of gas. If not it could be as simple as a capacitors or more involved.
