Go to your local Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, or any other hardware/home store... in the nail/fasteners aisle.

Many staple manufacturers make them, sold by box of 1,000 and up. Just check what number gun they fit.

(example: box states "fits no. 800, 900 and 1000 staple guns.)

As long as "1000" is part of the list, they'll fit.

There were a few staples left in the cartridge when the stapler stopped working. I went thru all the steps on bottom for stapler after changing the cartridge with two different cartridges. It makes the noise and puts marks in the paper, but no staples come out of it.

That's an easy one
Use the Arrow 600 series staples. heres the link to the different sizes available.

Good luck and don't forget to rate me :)

Staples (the store) is big on Swingline products. You may be able to order staples (the item) online.

I am in the same boat, have no idea how to release the handle of this horrid Arrow T50. Staples are loaded but the lever is fixed and can't use it...of course the manual mentions nothing.

use arrow #606 in the gray box. the back of the box lists compatible staple guns.

Went to the local hardware and read the labels. The store brand fit and works as good as the original staples. The 1000 has outlasted several of the new fashion staplers. And the local hardware store is an Ace Hardware.

This happened to me as well. I am not sure what causes this but heres what I did to fix it.

Just grab the top part of the stapler ( where it says Swingline) and pull up, like you are trying to seperate the top and bottom. You will hear a click and your stapler should work fine.

I couldn't open my Swingline Optima model 8784x either. Their website wasn't helpful except they mention you can change staples "with the push of a button." Button, I thought. What button? In the picture, there's a black button at the back end of the stapler. Mine is missing! The button, if it were there, would press down on a metal tab, releasing the staple slide which pops out the front. Insert staples, push it closed, you're done! I used a letter opener to push down the metal tab.

I have the same question...were you ever able to find them?

Staples... | Answered on Oct 31, 2011 | 928 views

The slide tray is on the bottom of the unit.
to open, you just press the very front button on the bottom.
it should open right up.

Hope this helps

Good luck

you would need to go to a hardware/supply store to purchase them. This is a technical support site. You can probably find them at Lowes or Home Depot or a store like that.

Try spraying the stapler mechanism with WD40 or a good light oil.

There is something jammed at the head of the stapler. Unjam.

It took me and my boss wrestling with this mongo stapler for 15 minutes to figure it out! :0)

To open the front end, pull up on the handle while simultaneously pushing down on the small black lever on the front. This takes some firmness and be warned, if it's jammed with staples it's going to take some serious force to get it open - watch your fingers!!! I strongly suggest the minute you get a jam, open up the front and clear it. Don't continue to staple in hopes it will work or clear itself or you will have a build up of jammed staples making it almost impossible to open and clear. Also note that when you open up the front end the staples tend to shoot out so be careful.

To open the back end to load staples, push forward and up.

Hope this is of help :0)

Help! I have a swingline 900XD and the device that holds the staples in place is missing. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it???

Staples... | Answered on Jan 28, 2011 | 1,905 views

Try loading with fewer staples to see if that helps and make sure there are no loose staples jamming the mechanism.

Staples... | Answered on Apr 28, 2010 | 696 views

The trick to clearing this is to rn the stapler WITHOUT the cartridge in. We removed several visible jams, but once we ran it with the cartridge out, a huge piece of staple came out, and then we were able to put the cartridge back in and use it. Woot!
