Question about Weiser Lock POWERBOLT ELEC DEADBOLT

My pwerbolt is about 3 years old and has stopped working. I changed batteries and it worked about three times and does not respond when pressing the "lock" button or unlock when locking manually. I tried resetting the code but this did not help. Sometime it beeps when pressing a button but does not beep when pressing all the opening code buttons. Seems like the key pad buttons are not making contact. I took the key pad out and it looks okay, not cracks or breaks. It is sealed so assume the contacts are not dirty. Help.

This is the relevant excerpt from the Powerbolt programming and troubleshooting instructions:

"To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps:

Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1).
If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish)."

Since you've already gone through the battery change, try the battery remove-reinstall recommended above. If that doesn't work for you it suggests that you need to replace the appropriate Powerboard for your lock.

I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem. You will want confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense, and that it's worth it. You will need to know the "finish" of your lock. Try to talk them into warrantying the part, in spite of the age (one year warranty on electronics), as a matter of good customer relations. They will help you get the correct part on order.

How old is the battery? Is it a replacement? My batteries usually last 4 years, more or less.

2003 GMC SIERRA 1500 HD I can enable the keyless entry remote but after three or four uses the system stops responding. changed the battery and checked fuses the locks still work with the inside switches...

  • 1 Put the vehicle in park, and turn the ignition to "On/Run" (don't crank the engine).

  • 2 Press the odometer trip stem on your instrument panel until it displays the message "Relearn Remote Key." Then release the stem.
  • 3 Press and hold the odometer trip stem again for three seconds. You will see the message "Remote Key Learning Active."

  • 4 Press both "Lock" and "Unlock" on your key fob at the same time, and hold the buttons down until a chime sounds. This should take about 15 seconds.
  • 5 Repeat Step 4 for each additional key fob you wish to program.
  • 6 Turn the ignition to "Lock/Off."

    This usually indicates a problem with the laptop's battery.

    How old is your battery? More than three years?

    Did you notice a considerable decline in unplugged time(the time you work on battery without being connected to mains supply) before it stopped working?

    If the battery is too old or if you noticed a severe decline in unplugged time, get a battery.

    If anything else, it needs to be check by a professional.

    Bose 3-2-1 Remote Control stopped working

    I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
    program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
    Bose 3-2-1.

    I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.

    Nothin works on my key pad

    Here are lock / unlock schemes for three recent Sanyo models:

    - Press and hold Stop/Cancel for 3 seconds
    - Press and hold Stop/Reset for 3 seconds or so
    - Press Stop/Clear five times

    Hopefully one of those will work.

    I contacted Bush custimer care and this is the reply I got:
    We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

    We would request you to kindly reset the remote control by following the steps mentioned below:

    1. Remove the batteries and reinsert the batteries after 1 minute.
    2. Press and hold the top, right and the bottom navigation button on the
    remote control along with the number 1 button (as in 123) for 10sec.

    It didn't work for me, but I have posted it on here, just in case it works from someone else
